Kenneth W. Wilkie
He is survived by his daughter, Ashly Wilkie of Lansing, son, Nathan of Haslett, brother Brian Wilkie of East Lansing, sisters Tina and Scott Heyser of Orlando, Fl, and Diane and Todd Schneider of Hawthorne, CA, his father, Bernard and Shirley Wilkie of Sun City, AZ, former wife Linda Carmer of Mason, several nieces and nephews and many other special friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Kay Wilkie and sister Rosemay Joy Wilkie. Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Kathy Leydorf officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Haslett Boy Scout Troop # 97, c/o Haslett Community Church, 1427 Haslett, Rd., Haslett, MI 48840 or Girl Scouts of Michigan Capital Council, 1974 Cedar St. Holt, MI 48842 or the donor’s choice. Eugene A. Wieber died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at the age of 80. He was born February 27, 1927 in Lebanon Township, Michigan, the son of William and Clara (Knoop) Wieber. He was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was a retired farmer. He attended Most Holy Trinity Elementary School and graduated from Fowler High School. Eugene was a private sort of person. He had a great love for music and a large collection of CD's. He also loved to read the many books that were in his library. Although lacking in social skills, he was blessed with a fantastic memory of events in the family, which tended to depend on him for names and dates. He also had a deep personal faith in Jesus Christ and went to daily Mass when he could. Eugene spent 3 1/2 years in Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, where he was well cared for. He often longed to come "home". Now we pray that he has gone home to the Lord. Eugene is survived by one sister, Romilda Pung of Lansing, three brothers, Arnold Wieber and Gerald (Doris) Wieber of Fowler, and the Rev. Donald A. Wieber of Coloma, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by four sisters, Irene Thelen, Sr. Esther Wieber, O.L.V.N., Sr. Bernita Wieber, O.P., and Magdalene Armbrustmacher, and one brother, Rev. Elmer Wieber. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, burial at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery with the Rev. Donald A. Wieber officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Goerge Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, Fowler, with a rosary prayed at 3 p.m. and a vigil service at 8 p.m. Sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to Most Holy Trinity Education Trust Fund or Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor.
Brad Boling, age 50, passed away Friday, November 9, 2007 at home. He was born on April 29, 1957, in Lansing, Michigan, son of Robert and Mildred (Canning) Boling. He married Jill Matter on October 7, 1995. He was retired from General Motors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed horseback riding and riding his Harley. He is survived by his wife, Jill; father, Bob Boling (Tammy Collins); mother-in-law, Janette Matter; sisters, Brenda (Walter) Hoten and Linda (Pat) Gallagher; brother, Dan (Melodie) Boling; sister-in-law, Amy (John) Swanchara; brothers-in-law, Eric and Kurt Black; nieces and nephews, Brooke and Ryan Gallagher, Ashley and Megan Black, Gunnar Swanchara, Brandon, Chase, and Dylan Boling, Chloe, Halle, Sydney Anderson, Thomas Hoten; and great-nephew, Wesley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Millie, and sister, Sandra Boling. A memorial celebration will be held on Friday, November 16, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, St. Johns, Michigan. Donations may be made to Clinton Home Hospice, 110 W. McCrumb She was the loving mother of Karen (Jerry) Swathwood of Manistee, Judy (Wayne) Webb of Ohio, Marchelle (Michael) Smith of Holt, Bill McCrumb of Wisconsin, Lynn (Betty) McCrumb of Lansing, Dennis (Debby) McCrumb and Mark (Jennifer) McCrumb both of Grand Ledge. 21 grandchildren. 35 great-grandchildren. 1 great-great-granddaughter. Sister of Bertha (William) Davern, Josetta (Howard) Gasper, Irwin Lenneman and Joseph (Julianne) Lenneman. Also survived by sister-in-law Ilene Westfall. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Grand Ledge with the Reverend Fr. James Eisele, Celebrant. Interment to follow in North Eagle Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 2-4:00 p.m. and 7-9:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 8:00 p.m. at the Holihan-Atkin Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. “Dick” Donald Carlson Mildred Edna ( Loynes ) Conklin
Millie was born on January 11, 1910, in Ovid, Michigan the daughter of William Ten and Eliza Gertrude (Oberlin) Scarbough. She graduated from Elsie High School, where she played forward on their winning girls basketball team. She married Wayne Loynes July 15, 1928 for 36 yrs. until his death. She then married Bernard “Bun” Conklin on December 4, 1971 and was married to him for 26 yrs until his death. Mildred was homemaker and cook at Owosso Memorial Hospital and had resided most of her life in the Elsie and Carland area. She attended the Methodist Church as a youth and young adult and was a member of the Home Extension group and a former Girl Scout. Survivors include her daughter, Rita Gaboury, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her 2 husbands, and 2 sons; Jerry Loynes and Basil Loynes. Memorials may be made to your local Hospice program in her

Kenneth W. Wilkie, 51
died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007 following a short but valiant battle with cancer. Kenneth was
born May 17, 1956 in Owosso, MI the son of Bernard and Mary Kay (Hodges) Wilkie. He
graduated from Okemos High School and received his Associate’s Degree from Lansing
Community College. Ken worked for the State of Michigan in the Family Independence Agency
for 10 years and then in the Information and Technology Dept. for 5 years. Being a father
was the main focus of his life. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, home
remodeling, working on cars, and enjoyed camping up north. 
Eileen Marie Beynon, age 80, of
Owosso, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Hazel Findlay Country Manor in St. Johns. The
family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. in
celebration of her life.
Herman W. Schaefer died Friday, November 9, 2007 at
the age of 88. Born February 19, 1919 in Bengal Township, Michigan the son of Hardy and
Mary Ann (Lancaster) Schaefer. He retired in 1980 as a Baker from Schafer Bakery in
Lansing after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #851
in Owosso. 
Richard “Dick” Donald Carlson passed away
November 9, 2007 at the age of 81. Richard was born on August 4, 1926 in Jackson, the son
of Charles and Lavina (Donley) Carlson. He graduated in 1944 from Michigan Center High
School and worked for Consumers Power Company at the Meter Building, Parnel Rd., for over
30 years and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked a small farm in the Leslie area before
moving to Barryton, MI. From there Richard moved to Rosewood Adult Foster Care in Ithaca. 
Mary Elnora Welton died on November 8, 2007 at Hazel I.
Findlay Country Manor at the age of 100. She was born October 16, 1907 in Almina Township,
MI, the daughter of Jesse Edwin and Elnora (Webb) Woodhams. Mary graduated from Rodney B.
Wilson, Class of 1926. She married Stanley Welton in 1928 in St. Johns and he preceded her
in death on November 15, 1991. Mary taught in several one-room shoolhouses and retired as
St. Johns Public School teacher from East Essex School, a member of the Clinton County
Retired Teachers Association and a member of First Congregational Church. 
Mildred Edna ( Loynes )
Conklin age 97 died on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Alabama Oaks Assisted Living, in
Winter Park, Florida. Memorial services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie
Chapel on November 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Paster Edwin Snook officiating. Visitation
will be prior to the services and burial will take place at Fairfield Township Cemetery. 
Donna B. Besko age 89 of St. Johns, MI died Wednesday,
November 7, 2007 in St. Johns, MI.
