Florence E. Hopp
On October 4, 1939 she married Lloyd Hopp and he preceded her in death August 6, 1977. She was also predeceased by five sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy (Herman) Pasch, Bertha (Clarence) Light, Edith (Carl) Light, Esther (Maynard) Martens, Verna (Ervin) Marten and brother-in-law Francis Flegler. Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen (Bruce) Bond of Perrinton and Judith (Richard) May of St. Johns, one son, Jerry Hopp of Clawson, MI; eight grandchildren, David and Daniel Hopp of Belding, Darren (Cheryl) May of Howell, Russell Bond and fiancée Nikki Bouchard of Providence, RI, Heidi (Michael) Duvall of Las Vegas, NV, Thomas (Jessica) Bond of St. Johns and Kendall Bond of Perrinton; four great grandchildren; one sister Edna Flegler of St. Johns and one sister-in-law, Jean Heathman of Lansing and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at St. Peter Lutheran Church 8990 Church Rd. St. Johns with Pastor Jeffrey Heimsoth officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. Anna spent most of her life in the Bannister and Elsie area. She loved to play bingo, dance, and do word search puzzles. She attended Brady Center School. She was married to John Hrymecki for 38 years. John predeceased her in death in 1970. She also lost two sisters, Helen and Alma, three brothers, Joe, Jimmy and Frank and second husband Vayne Lockwood. She was a member of the Elsie United Methodist Church for many years and served in the Elsie Rebecka Lodge. Anna was employed for many years with Redmonds and Strawsigns Manufacture Co. of Corunna, Michigan. Surviving her are three children, Pauline and Larry Christie of Haslett, Michigan, Edward and Carol Hrymecki of Ovid, Michigan, and John and Judy Hrymecki of Owosso, Michigan, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving her are three sisters, Mary and Gordon Mead of Elsie, Michigan, Bertha Kuchar of Henderson, Michigan, and Mildred Eberle of Howard City, Michigan. A celebration of Anna's life will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Pastor Edwin Snook will officiate and burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Elsie, Michigan. The family will receive friends Monday, June 9, 2008 from 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday, June 10, 2008 from 2-8 P.M. with the family present 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to Elsie United Methodist Church or your favorite charity. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
Also surviving is one daughter, Sue (Jerry) Bishop and one son, Doug (Holly) Merignac all of St. Johns; daughter-in-law, Lynn Merignac of Waxhaw, NC; six grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Luongo of Grayson, GA, Mary (Justin) Pouch of Milford, MI, Michelle (Jeremy) Brook and Ann Bishop all of Grand Rapids, Ryan (Kristy) Merignac of Lansing and Denelle Merignac of St. Johns; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Joyce (Larry) Crosby of St. Johns and one brother, Rollie (Donna) Merignac of Ashley and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Lynn, April 23, 2006. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns with Pastor Tim Knaus officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday and 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church 512 S. US 27, St. Johns, MI 48879.
Also surviving is her brother, Norman (Wilma) Sieb of South Lyon, MI, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008 at
the First Baptist Church of Elsie with Pastors Ralph Parkin and Murl Eastman officiating.
Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to
the service at the church. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to the First
Baptist Church of Elsie or the American Heart Association. Arrangements by the Houghton
