Alvin Ridenour

Alvin Ridenour, 68, of St. Johns, passed away Dec. 26, 1999. He was born in Advance, Mo. on Aug. 20, 1931 the son of Timothy and Lessie (Harvey) Ridenour. He worked as a self-employed tool and die maker and was a member of the D.A.V.

He married Frances Fasnacht in Piggott, Ark. on Feb. 2, 1953 and she survives him.

Also surviving are three sons, Dan (Jan) Ridenour of St. Johns, Eric (Sandy) Ridenour of Walled Lake and Kurt (Wanda) Ridenour of Waterford; one daughter, Linda (David) Mudrinich of Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Gayle, Lynne, and Lee Ridenour, Danica Mudrinich, Rebecca and Deborah Ridenour, and Megan Ridenour; one brother and five sisters.

There will be no services.

The family was served by the Osgood Funeral Home.

Lida Hoover

Lida A. Hoover, 90, of Maple Rapids, passed away Dec. 29, 1999. She was a member of the Maple Rapids Congregational Church, AMECO Club, Clinton Co. Extension Club and the Womens Fellowship.

Funeral services were held Dec. 31, 1999 the Abbott Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, Maple Rapids, burial at Beach Cemetery with Pastor George Brown officiating.

Ruth Summer

Ruth Evelyn Summer, 78, of Corunna, passed away Dec. 23, 1999. She was a member of the Perry Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services were Dec. 24 at Bethel Mennonite Church, burial at Washington Township Cemetery with Pastor Joe Pendleton officiating. The family was served by the Osgood Funeral Home.

Allen McDiarmid

Allen W. McDiarmid, 73, of St. Johns, died Dec. 25, 1999. He was born Feb. 6, 1926, in St. Johns, the son of Ambrose and Minnie (Mathieson) McDiarmid.

He was a retired Motor Wheel foundry employee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Allen married Phyllis Rininger April 2, 1952. She preceded him in death Oct. 5, 1988. He married Doroty (Bigelow) Bukovick March 26, 1990, and she survives him.

Also surviving are one son, Terry McDiarmid of St. Johns; seven step-children, John (Karen) Matthews of North Carolina, John (Becky) Bukovick of Durand, Marsha (David) Hice of Schoolcraft, Dorie Sholtz of Saginaw, Sharon (Ivan) Tessman of Beaverton, Rebecca Matthews of Flushing, and Kathleen (Lloyd) Peck of Bannister; 32 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Pettit of Grand Rapids and Elinor Gallani of St. Johns; two brothers, Bruce (Edna) McDiarmid of Ovid, and Neal (Edith) McDiarmid of Crystal; and a close friend, Pete Welter of Owosso. He was preceded in death by one grandson, George McDiarmid; and three brothers, Kenneth, Robert, and Donald McDiarmid.

The funeral service was held Dec. 28 at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns with Pastor Don White officiating. Burial was at Mt. Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice for Clinton County.

Richard A. Bean

Richard Bean, age 72, of Owosso, passed away Saturday, December 25, 1999, at his home.     Mr. Bean had been a piano teacher.

  Services were held at St. Paul Catholic Church,   Wednesday, December 29, 1999, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Fr. Robert D. Kolenski officiated with burial at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. The family is being served by the Jennings-Lyons Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Bean was born in Owosso, August 6,1927, the son of Harvey L. and
Margaret C. (Dynes) Bean. He was a graduate of St. Paul High School, and Sherwood School of Music in Chicago.

He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church; Owosso Music Teachers
Association; and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1139.   He was a former Minister and long-time member of the Secular Franciscan Order, Our Lady of the Angels Fraternity in DeWitt.

Survivors include; one brother, James H. (Marian) Bean of Owosso; nieces
and  nephews, Tamara (Ken) Hagen of Owosso, Connie Hail of Bradenton,
Florida, Jack Bean of Lansing, David (Sue) Bean of Greensboro,  North
Carolina,  Michele Bean of Kalkaska, Lisa (Brian) Ward of Webster Groves,   Missouri; several great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews; also, special friends Rose and Beulah.

He was predeceased by; his parents; and one sister.  Memorials are suggested to Friends of Hospice; Diabetes Association; or the
American Cancer Society.

Harriet Morehouse

Harriet (Hattie) M. Morehouse, 97, of Ovid, died Dec. 25, 1999. She was born Aug. 4, 1902 in Ovid Township, the daughter of Ezekiel and Nella (Woodham) Lane.

Hattie lived all her life in Ovid. She married Melbourne Morehouse Aug. 8, 1919, in DeWitt. He preceded her in death July 2, 1981.

She was a member of the Duplain Church of Christ. She retired from Oldsmobile in the 1960s,

Suriviving are four sons, Basil (Dorothy) Morehouse of Indiana, George Morehouse of St. Johns, Darrell (Edith) Morehouse of Texas, and William Morehouse of Owosso; three daughters, Edith Taylor of Ovid, Dorris Anderson of Ovid, and Frances (Dale) Martin of Texas; 22 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 35 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Dec. 28 at Duplain Church of Christ with Pastor Steve Ruger officiating. Burial was at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid. Memorials may be made to Ovid Carriage House Project, or Hospice of Clinton County.

Keith Overmeyer

Keith D. Overmeyer, 66, of Elsie, died Dec. 23, 1999. There were no services. Arrangements were made by Smith Funeral Homes, Elsie.

Julius Remenar

Julius Remenar, 92, of Bannister, died Dec. 23, 1999. He was a retired farmer. The Mass of Christian Burial was held Dec. 27 at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister. Arrangements were made by Smith Funeral Home, Elsie Chapel.
