Jean A. Ormsby

Jean A. Ormsby died April 18, 2000 at the age of 76. Born in Ovid Township November 4, 1923.  She was the daughter of Clarence and Helen "Neva" (Bartlett) Neller and lived in Clinton County all of her life.  She was a member of Price United Methodist Church, a board member, a trustee, chairman of the education, missions, and evangelism committees.  She was Sunday School Superintendent and taught Sunday School.  She was a member of United Methodist Women and served as President and Vice President.  She formerly participated in the Clinton County Extension and held offices locally and in the county.  She was a 4-H Leader for 15 years in clothing and cooking.  She raised laying hens for many years.  She married Russell Ormsby April 17, 1942 and he survives her.  

Also surviving are one daughter, Carol Sitowski of St. Johns, two sons, Lee (Raema) Ormsby of St. Johns and Dean (Susan) Ormsby of Derwood, Maryland, nine grandchildren, and two brothers, Bernard (Beulah) Neller of St. Johns and Paul Neller of Columbus, Wisconsin.   Jean was preceded in death by infant twin boys, her parents, and her sister, Louisa Jakeway.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 22, 2000 at the Price United Methodist Church, burial at South Bingham Cemetery with Rev. Kay Pratt officiating.   The family will receive friends 7-9 P.M. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Friday at the Osgood Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Price United Methodist Church or Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor.

Frances M. (Deibert-Peterson) Eberly

franebery.jpg (9977 bytes)Frances M. (Deibert-Peterson) Eberly died Saturday, April 15,2000 at the age of 89. Born in Ovid Twp. August 1, 1910 the daughter of Glen and Amy (Adams) Doyen and lived most of her life in the St. Johns area.  She was a member of the First Congregational Church serving as organist for nearly 20 years, a member of St. Johns O.E.S. #79 and former member of Okemos O.E.S. Chapter #267.  Fran was dubbed a "professional volunteer" by her family having worked and held office in several organizations.  She was preceded in death by three husbands, Basil Deibert, H.A. (Pete) Peterson, and Hilton Eberly. 

She is survived by two daughters, Ardene (James) McCallum of Anaheim, CA & Barbara (Cayle) Beagle of St. Johns, one son, Max (Heather) Deibert of Bozeman, Montana, ten grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.  Also surviving are step-children by Pete Peterson, Mary (David) Stevenson & John (Nancy) Peterson, step-children by Hilton Eberly, Roger (Sandra) Eberly, Janet (Robert) Heymann, & Linda (Charles) Seitz, and one brother, Wendell (Mary Margaret) Doyen of Kerrville, TX. 

Funeral Service will be 12:00 noon Wednesday, April 19, 2000 at the First Congregational Church, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Olson and William Rockwell officiating. The family will receive friends 7-9 P.M. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Tuesday at the Osgood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Congregational Church, Clinton Memorial Hospital, Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, or Briggs Public Library.
