Norman S. RewertsNorman S. Rewerts died May 18, 2000 at the age of 65. He was born in Wyoming, Illinois on July 25, 1934, the son of Frederick and Margaret (Dement) Rewerts, came to St. Johns in 1952 and lived in Lansing for the last 10 years. Norm retired from Federal Mogul in 1997, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Moose Lodge. He married Rosemary Ondrusek in St. Johns on May 8, 1954 and she preceded him in death in 1986, he then married Phyllis Paseka in St. Johns on September 3, 1990 and she survives him. Also surviving are five daughters, Terri (Chris) Watros, Diane Rewerts, both of Lansing, Marcia (Rusty) Zeigler of Ovid, Gina (Terry) Couzzins of DeWitt, and Jean Rewerts of St. Johns, four sons, Norman W. (Danita) Rewerts, Joseph (Teresa) Rewerts, Jeffrey (Tami) Rewerts, and Eric (Lisa) Conklin, all of St. Johns, fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Ron (Delores) Rewerts of St. Johns, Richard (Sandy) Rewerts of Ovid, and Tom Rewerts of DeWitt, one sister, Sandi (Paul) Thompson of North Carolina, and two mothers-in-law, Anna Ondrusek and Anna Paseka. In addition to his first wife, Rosemary, he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and two fathers-in-law, Joseph L. Ondrusek and Ralph Paseka. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 22, 2000 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Jose Mundadan officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Saturday and Sunday at the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns, with a K of C Rosary 7:00 P.M. Saturday and a Vigil service 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made for family wishes or to the American Cancer Society. Lucy E. StringhamLucy E. Stringham died May 13, 2000 at the age of 82. Born in St. Charles, Michigan on May 23, 1917, she was the daughter of Elihu and Mary Elizabeth (Wallace) Trumble. She was a member of St. Johns Seventh Day Adventist Church, and a member of Dorcas (Community Service). Mrs. Stringham loved gardening and quilt making as well as spending her entire life working as seamstress and homemaker. Lucys marriage of 53 years to Nelson Stringham on April 12, 1936 ended with his death December 18, 1989. She is survived by two sons, Darus (Catherine) Stringham of Elsie and Orlin (Karen) Stringham of Fowler, two daughters, Cheryl (Terry) Zimmerman of Ashley and Audrene Pokorny of Elsie, 13 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, one sister, Nina Brenner (Bert) of St. Charles, two brothers, Ira Trumble (Shirley) of Owosso and Harvey Trumble (Betty) of St. Charles, and one sister-in-law, Florence Trumble of St. Charles. In addition to her husband and parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Hart and one brother Leonard Trumble. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 18, 2000 at the Houghton Chapel of
the Osgood Funeral Homes, Ovid, burial at Fairfield Cemetery with Pastor Olan Thomas
officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Houghton
Chapel. Memorials may be made to George Sommers Seventh Day Adventist Church School in
St. Johns. Robert C. Kelley, 86, of Elsie, passed away May 11, 2000. He retired from Buick Motors in Flint after 35 years of service. Funeral services were held May 15 at Smith Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
Francis Mentus, 89, of Ashley passed away May 13, 2000. He retired from Motor Wheel in 1973 in Lansing after 28 years of service and also farmed. Mass of Christian burial was held May 16 at St. Cyrils Catholic Church, Bannister. The family was served by the Smith Funeral Home.
