Elizabeth A. Koenigsknecht

Elizabeth A. Koenigsknecht died August 8, 2000 at the age of 18. She was born in St. Johns on May 2, 1982, the daughter of Richard and Sheryl (Pulliam) Koenigsknecht and lived all her life in St. Johns. Liz loved children and belonged to Big Brothers/Big Sisters and was a Big Sister to Nicole. Liz was a graduate of St. Johns High School Class of 2000, was a starting pitcher for the varsity softball team, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and S.A.D.D. 

Surviving are her parents, brother, Richard J. Koenigsknecht, special friend, Sara Smith, grandparents, Jerry & May Pulliam of St. Johns and Viola Koenigsknecht of Fowler, great grandmother, Eva Shingleton of Breckenridge, many loving aunts, uncles & cousins, and special children that she babysat for. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Julius Koenigsknecht and special aunt, Wanda Gehrig “Granny Annie”.  

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 11, 2000 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery, with Rev. Fr. Dwight Ezop and Rev. Fr. Timothy D. Krzyzaniak concelebrating. The family will receive friends 7-9 P.M. Wednesday and 2-4 Thursday at the Osgood Funeral Home and 7-9 P.M. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a 7:30 P.M. Vigil Service. Memorials may be made to the Fantasy Forest Playground.

Isma Irene Speck

Isma Irene Speck died August 4, 2000 at the age of 90.  Born in St. Johns, Michigan July 5, 1910, she was the daughter of Jasper and Effie (Bryant) Speck and lived all her life in St. Johns.  She was a graduate of Rodney B. Wilson High School and the Acme Business School of Lansing.  She held positions as teller, secretary, and bookkeeper at the former City Bank in St. Johns, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Vesper Division of the church. 

Surviving are several cousins, many friends, and special friends, the Joann and Paul Martis family. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 7, 2000 at the First Congregational Church, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Matt Olson officiating. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the Osgood Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church.

Martha H. Foust

Martha H. Foust died July 28, 2000 at the age of 86.  Born November 17, 1913 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Groves G. and Grace (Kurtz) Holbrook. Martha was a graduate of Kent State University in 1935 and Michigan State University in 1959. She was a teacher at the St. Johns High School for 23 years, retiring in 1973.   Martha was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel,  Federation of Womans' Clubs of St. Johns, a volunteer at Clinton Memorial Hospital and the Paine Gillam Scott Museum. 

She is survived by one daughter, Ellen (Gus) Doerfler of Highland; five grandchildren, Bill Clark of Elsie, Karen Clark of St. Johns, Elizabeth (Mark) Fraim of Lapeer, Luanne Acevedo of Okeechobee, FL, Richard Stiles of Auburn Hills, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister Shirley Bowman.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 31, 2000 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial in Mt. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Carol Floyd officiating.  The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. 

Margaret J. Aymor

Margaret J. Aymor died July 30, 2000 at the age of 50. She was born in Owosso on February 23, 1950, the daughter of Ernest and Dorothy (Zdunic) Hoose. 

Surviving are one daughter, Michelle (Michael) Shank of Lake, one son, Chuck Aymor of Owosso, three grandchildren, Caylei, Maeghan, and Brandon Shank, one sister, Barbara Jean Nichols of Owosso, two step sisters, Pam Hoose and Lynn Hoose, one brother, Mark Conrad of Clare, one step brother, Pepe Hoose, many nieces and nephews, and special niece Irene. She was preceded in death by her parents, step father, Alfred Conrad, sister, Patricia Newman, and brother, Ernest Hoose, Jr. 

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 2, 2000 at the Houghton Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, Ovid. The family will receive friends 7-9 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Carol L. Teems

Carol L. Teems died July 29, 2000 at the age of 48. She was born in Lansing on February 18, 1952, the daughter of Lyle and Helga (Niedermeyer) Rawson and lived in the St. Johns area most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church in St. Johns. 

Surviving are her husband John Teems, parents, Lyle (Mary) Rawson of Lansing and Bobby R. (Mary Ann) Warr of Ovid, five sisters, Evelyn Kinch, Ruth Joseph, Cindy Harger, all of St. Johns, Kathy Sway of Lansing and Claudia (Mark) Pluger of  Ovid, five brothers, John Rawson of FL, Mike (Brenda) Warr of St. Johns, Robert (Jane) Warr of L’Anse, MI, Harold (Cathy) Warr of Lansing, and Earl (Sabrina) Rawson of Holt, many nieces and nephews, and special friend, Bonnie Forbes of St. Johns. 

Private funeral services will be held. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Osgood Funeral Home.

Russell Bouck

Russell William Bouck, 80, of Elsie, passed away July 28, 2000. He was a retired farmer and the former Police Chief of the Village of Elsie.

Funeral services were held July 31 at Smith Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.

Helen M. Kemmer 

Helen M. Kemmer died August 2, 2000 at the age of 57. She was born in Lansing on November 20, 1942, the daughter of William and Donna (Harris) Wethy and lived in St. Johns for the last 15 years. 

She is survived by her mother, Donna Wethy, daughter, Roxane Wethy, both of St. Johns, son, Scott Kemmer of Durand, one granddaughter, one great great granddaughter, and two brothers, Timothy Wethy of DeWitt and Clare Wethy. She was preceded in death by her father. 

There will be no services. The family will receive friends 10:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. Thursday at the Osgood Funeral Home.

Bonnie Butler

Bonnie J. Butler, 60, of DeWitt, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Aug. 1, 2000. She was born Oct. 30, 1939 in Lansing.

She was a registered nurse at Ingham Medical Center for 17 years, retiring in May 1999 from the hospital. She enjoyed going camping and visiting casinos in Michigan. She enjoyed playing the slot machines so much that she spent many hours at home playing the video slots on her computer. She was loved by her large family and will be deeply missed.

Bonnie and Mel shared 43 years of wonderful marriage together.

Surviving are her husband, Melvin; three daughters, Sabrina (Mike) Fancett, Kim Butler and Tracy Armour, all of DeWitt; two sons, Mel (Kris) of Holt and Steve (Tammy) of DeWitt; mother, Myrtie (Harold) Hough of Lansing; one sister, Marilyn (Ray) Unger of Maple Rapids; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She also had two young lab pups named Tandy and Molly.

Funeral services were held Aug. 5 at the Gorsline-Runciman Co., DeWitt Chapel with Elders Kenneth and Carole Dudley of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, officiating. Interment was at DeWitt Cemetery. Memorials may be made to her grandchildrens educational fund, c/o the funeral home.

William Fitzpatrick

William E. Fitzpatrick, 62, of Perrinton, passed away July 31, 2000 as a result of a farm accident. He was born April 20, 1938 in Eaton Rapids the son of Leland and Lucille (Kirby) Fitzpatrick.

He was a lifetime area resident and farmer. He had retired from BOC in Lansing and was a former member of the National Guard. He was the President of the Fulton Township Zoning Board, and was an active antique tractor pull participant.

On Nov. 27, 1955 he married Murial Becker at St. Martin DePores Catholic Church, Perrinton, and she survives him. Also surviving are his mother Lucille Fitzpatrick of Perrinton; two sons Dennis (Pamela) Fitzpatrick of Alma and Ryan (Michelle) Fitzpatrick of Perrinton; daughter Carrie (Brian) Nicholas of Middleton; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were held Aug. 4 at St. Martin DePores Catholic Church with Fr. Jules Spleet officiating. Interment was in Fulton Center Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. The family was served by the Lux Funeral Home.
