Hazel S. Beebe

Hazel S. Beebe died September 15, 2000 at the age of 101. She was born in Greenbush Township on September 19, 1898, the daughter of Norton and Clara (Love) Blank and was a life-long resident of Clinton County. Hazel worked very hard at raising her seven children and being a housewife. After her husband’s death, she did housecleaning and baking at the Salt Box House Restaurant. Hazel married Lawrence Beebe in Middleton in 1918 and he preceded her in death in 1955. 

Surviving are one son, Howard (Louise) Beebee of Lansing, 25 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Helen Kridner, Donna Ladishy, Betty Jean Shaw, Geraldine Bishop, Robert, and Clare Beebee. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 18, 2000 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Eureka Cemetery with Pastor Jim Dibbet officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-9 Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Gideon’s or Greenbush United Methodist Church.

Ernest Ashbaugh, Jr. 

ashbaugh-ernest.jpg (6379 bytes)Ernest Ashbaugh, Jr. died September 14, 2000 at the age of 75. He was born in Lansing on April 14, 1925, the son of Ernest Sr. and Flossie (Cogswell) Ashbaugh and lived in St. Johns and Lansing most of his life. He retired from Oldsmobile after 35 years of service, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy World War II, a graduate of Eastern High School, a member of Lowe United Methodist Church and L.S.T. #699 in Lansing. Ernest married Joyce Casteel in Laingsburg on February 25, 1989 and she survives him.  

Also surviving are one son, Bob (Nancy) Ashbaugh, one daughter, Linda (Wayne) Hyde, all of St. Johns, four special step children, six grandchildren, Robert, Kelly, and Amy Hyde, Chris, Cindy, and Cathy Ashbaugh, twelve special step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, four sisters, Neomi Daniels of Friendswood, TX, Mona (Loren) Lorenzen of Mason, MI, Geraldine (George) Joy of Sheridan, MI, and Carol Miller of Haslett, MI, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille M. Ashbaugh.  

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 18, 2000 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jim Dibbet officiating. The family will receive friends 6-9 P.M. Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lowe United Methodist Church. 

Mary Donalee Fillmore 

Mary Donalee Fillmore died September 9, 2000 at the age of 73. She was born in Midland on August 25, 1927, the daughter of Manson and Lulu (Thayer) Fillmore. 

Surviving are one sister, Gloria Kilchermann of Hubbardston, one brother, Patrick Fillmore of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and many nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, September 11, 2000 at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Paul Cummings officiating. Arrangements by the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns.
