Sophia Exelby | Dean L. Bellingar |
Sophia ExelbySophia Exelby died December 4, 2000 at the age of 95. She was born in Allegheny County, PA on May 13, 1905, the daughter of John and Mary (Sakach) Dunay and lived in St. Johns most of her life. She was a housekeeper and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Sophia married Leon Exelby in Owosso on May 5, 1938 and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1998. Surviving are niece, Judy (Bob) Tresler of Gladwin, great nephew, Kent Tresler of Gladwin, sister, Mildred Brown of St. Johns, brother, August (Frances) Dunay of Ovid, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 7, 2000 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Timothy D. Krzyzaniak officiating. The family will receive friends 6-9 P.M. Wednesday at the Osgood Funeral Home with a Rosary prayed 8:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Dean L. BellingarDean L. Bellingar died December 7, 2000 at the age of 67. Born in Isabella County March 30, 1933, he was the son of Leo and Dorothy (Young) Bellingar and was retired from Fisher Body after 20 years of service. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and the Handicap Travel Club. Dean married Jeanette Lake June 24, 1951 and she survives him. Also surviving are three daughters, Elnora (Gale) Tabor of Elsie, Sherry (Dan) Hine of St. Johns, and Wanda (Pat) Sump of Shaftsburg, 10 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren. Dean also is survived by 3 sisters, Bonnie (Robert) Orweller of Mecosta, Donna (Kenneth) Wilson of Elsie, & Connie Husted of Fowler, two brothers, Eugene (and friend Lois) Bellingar of Breckenridge & Lloyd (Judy) Bellingar of Crystal. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Bellingar, his mother, Dorothy Bellingar, and one sister, Rosella Washburn. Memorial Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 9, 2000 at the Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Dibbet officiating. There will be no visitation. MooreAlice I. Moore died December 6, 2000 at the age of 96. Arrangements by the Osgood Funeral Home. John B. HarrisJohn B. Harris died December 2, 2000 at the age of 61. He was born in Montcalm County, MI on September 11, 1939, the son of Don and Dona (Barrett) Harris. He retired from General Motors after 26 years of service, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a member of U.A.W. #488 and the American Legion #0250 Walter Miller Post in Plainwell. Surviving are two sisters, Suzanne (Ralph) Moeggenberg of St. Johns and Yvonne (Richard) Foster of Barryton, MI, one brother, Robert (Joni) Harris of Branson, MO, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Ronald W. Harris. Private family graveside services will be held. Memorials may be made to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Clinton County. Arrangements by the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns. Vaughn J. MonahanVaughn J. Monahan, born September 17, 1914 in Port Huron, MI, passed away November 28, 2000. He married Lillian McGowan April 27, 1943 and she preceded him in death January 31, 1999. Also proceeded in death by his parents and a sister. He was a Major in World War II with 398th engineers and was employed by V.A. hospitals as supply office manager. He retired to Roswell, New Mexico and returned to Michigan in April 2000. Surviving are three nephews, Michael (Ann) Palmer of St. Johns, MI, Terry (Tricia) Palmer of Punta Gorda, FL, and James (Elaine) Mitchell of Tucson, AZ. Memorial Mass will be held 9:30 A.M. Saturday, December 16, 2000 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns, MI with Rev. Fr. Timothy D. Krzyzaniak and Rev. Fr. Dennis Fountain officiating. Burial will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI.
