Harold L. Warren
Harold L. Warren died February 28, 2001 at the age of 76. He was born in Owosso on July 16, 1924, the son of Lawrence and Gladys (Kaltrider) Warren and lived all his life in Ovid. He was a farmer and a member of Middlebury United Methodist Church and Farm Bureau. Harold married Joan Ann Laura Wonsey Greenhoe in Middlebury Township on August 4, 1972 and she survives him. Also surviving are his children, Julie Rose (Gregory) Atwood of Gladwin, William J. (Grace) Greenhoe of Norton Shores, MI, Dale (Jill) Greenhoe of Ovid, and Jane Ann Laura (Scott) Miller of Elsie, and ten grandchildren, Rebecca Hammond, Rachel Hammond, Amanda Atwood, Kyle Atwood, Randi Miller, Damien Miller, Nicholas Greenhoe, Devan Greenhoe, Gregory Greenhoe, and Lawrence Greenhoe. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 3, 2001 at the Houghton Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, Ovid, burial at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev. Weatherly Verhelst officiating. The family will receive friends 7-9 P.M. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Middlebury United Methodist Church. Gary L. Peters, 59, of St. Johns, passed away Feb. 27, 2001 at home. He was born June 20, 1941, in St. Johns, the son of Lyle and Julia (Purdy) Peters. He was a lifetime resident of St. Johns. Gary graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in St. Johns with Class of 1959. He loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed his garden. He worked for the State of Michigan in various departments and was working in the Department of Budget and Management when he retired after 33 years of service. Surviving him are two daughters, Audra (Dan) Meyers of Atlanta, Ga., Jennifer Peters of Orlando, Fla.; two grandchildren, Brittany and Taylor Connors of Atlanta, Ga.; his mother, Julia Peters of Ovid; one sister, Julia (Lem) Hunt of Ovid; one nephew, Kent (Maria) Ley of St. Johns; one niece, Kalista (Michael) Hartenburg of Ovid; two great-nieces and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Lorraine. Funeral services were held March 2, at Smith Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel. Burial was held at Duplain Township Cemetery with the Rev. Merlin Pratt officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Age 70 of Elsie, Michigan passed away Monday, February 26, 2001 at his home. He formerly owned and operated Williams Hardware Store in Elsie, Michigan. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. at Elsie United Methodist Church in Elsie. Rev. Merlin Pratt will officiate. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be at Smith Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel on Tuesday from 2-9 with the family present from 2-4 and 7-9 P.m. Lowell was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 5, 1930, the son of Ralph and Ilabelle (Flegel) Williams. On February 28, 1954 he married Alice Downing in Ohio. He was a member the Elsie United Methodist Church and the American Legion of Elsie. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and also a moral mushroom hunter. He resided the last 43 years in Elsie, Michigan. Survivors include his wife, Alice of Elsie, MI, six children, Linda (Robert) Vollwerth of Houghton, MI, Margaret (Randy) Heiser of Holt, MI, Donald (Debbi) Wilson of Ovid, MI, Jenny Williams-Goodwin and husband Lynn Goodwin of Fenton, MI, Lana Huntoon of Corunna, MI, and Brian (Teresa) Williams of Milford, MI, seventeen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, father, Ralph Williams of Elsie, MI, two sisters in law, Donna Williams of Taylor, MI, and Betty Sweeney of Richmond, VA, also numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was predeceased by his mother Ila, and two brothers, Robert and Carl. Memorials may be made to Clinton County Hospice or Elsie United Methodist Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Edna M. PringnitzEdna M. Pringnitz died February 24, 2001 at the age of 90. Born in London, England on April 22, 1910, she was the daughter of Albert and Lillie (Jeffries) Montgomery and lived in Royal Oak until 1996 when she moved to St. Johns. She married Russell Pringnitz on May 22, 1933 and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1974. Edna is survived by her daughter Gail (Dwight) Shepherd of St. Johns, two grandchildren, Christopher Haarer of Florida, and Rebecca Snyder of Flint, and nine great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak. Memorials may be made to Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor.
