Roberto Leal Longoria, age 39, Orlando, FL., passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2001. He was born October 24, 1961 in Lansing the son of Eufemio and Julia (Leal) Longoria Sr. He attended St. Johns High School, and lived most of his life in the St. Johns until moving to Florida 20 years ago. Survivors include; his mother, Julia Longoria of St. Johns, 1 daughter, Jennifer Salinas of St. Johns; 2 sons, Brandon and Anthony Longoria of Florida; 2 sisters, Diane Longoria of Ovid and Gloria (James) Kimmel of Elsie; 7 brothers, Eufemio (Sheray) Longoria Jr. of St. Johns, Ricardo (Patty) Longoria of Saginaw, Albert Longoria, Louis (Barb) Longoria, Michael (Natalie) Longoria all of St. Johns, William (Terri) Peterson, Jeffery Longoria of Ovid; many nieces, nephews and Aunts and Uncles. He was predeceased by his father. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 8, 2001 at 11:00 with Pastor George Brinley officiating at Smith Family Funeral Home, St. Johns with Burial at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid. Visitation will be Saturday 7-9 and Sunday 2-9 with the family present from 2-4 and 7-9. The family was served by the Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns. Julie Kay Martin, Westphalia, Age 42, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2001. She was born on June 25, 1959 in St. Johns, the daughter of Paul M. and Helen A. (Droste) Fox. Mrs. Martin was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Being a very outgoing person, she loved cooking, baking, the outdoors, and being there for her family. She was preceded in death by a son, Jacob; and mother and father-in-law, Joseph P. and Pauline Martin. Surviving are her husband Luke A.; son Joseph Martin, both of Westphalia; father and mother Paul and Helen Fox of Pewamo; sisters, Paula Fox of Lansing and Peg Fox of Kalamazoo; brothers, Charles (Cindy) Fox of Pewamo and Robert Fox of Crystal; many sisters and brothers-in-law; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Cecilio Reyna, Pastor, at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Rite of Committal following at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. The Rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. both days. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Pamela J. Powers of Charlotte, Age 50, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at her home Sunday, September 30, 2001. She was employed at C.I.S. for the State of Michigan. Pamela was very devoted to her family and enjoyed yard work. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Juanita Powers. Survived by her husband of 31 years, Robert; 3 children, Chantele (Scott) Geisenhaver of Potterville, Steven Powers of Potterville, and Katherine (Ryan) Lum of Charlotte; 2 grandchildren, Chase and Payton Geisenhaver; parents, Loren and Roselene Royston of DeWitt; father-in-law, Robert (Jeanette) Powers of St. Johns. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. at Chapel in the Pines Funeral Home, 101 W. Jolly Rd., with Rev. Patricia Stirling of First Congregation-United Church of Christ of Charlotte, officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. |
