Irene Suchek

Irene M. Suchek, 80, of St.Johns, died Sept. 25, 1998. She was born Dec. 15, 1917, in St. Johns, the daughter of Edward and Pauline (Martin) Bandt. She lived most of her life in the St. Johns area. Irene was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, and Western Fraternal Life.

She married Walter Suchek April 6, 1937. He preceded her in death Dec. 20, 1975.

Surviving are one son, Walter Suchek Jr., of St. Johns; three daughters, Roberta (Sid) Mageli, Debora (Douglas) Burl, all of St.Johns, and Sue Ann (Dan) Olson of Algonquin, Ill.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Myers and Lucille (Jim) Richardson, all of Owosso; one brother, Kenneth (Virgilene) Bandt of Perry; two sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Mageli; four brothers, Fred, Herman, Martin,and Robert Bandt; two sisters-in-law, Mary Goetsch and Stella McCoy; and a daughter-in-law, Margaret Glowacki Suchek. The funeral service was held Sept. 28 at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Pastor Thees Hoft officiating. Burial was at Mt. Rest Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church, Clinton Memorial Hospital, or Meals On Wheels.
