Dale RobinsonDale F. Robinson, 74, of St. Johns, died Oct. 21, 1998. He was born May 3, 1924, in Stanton, the son of Floyd M. and Lela (Dean) Robinson. He lived most of his life in St. Johns.Dale was a retired Bailiff for the 65th District Court. He was a World War II veteran, a member of VFW Post 4113, American Legion Post 153, the First United Methodist Church in St. Johns, 40&8, and the St. Johns Rotary Club.Dale married Barbara L. Bailey Aug.15, 1948, in St. Johns. She preceded him in death Dec. 19, 1994.Surviving are two daughters, Diane Crawford and her husband, Robert Calder, of St. Johns, and Colleen Ebreck of Sacramento, Calif.; one son, Michael (Tami) Robinson of Ovid; five grandchildren, Angela, Kelly, Monica, Logan, and Haley; one great-grandson, Jalen; four sisters, Ruth (George) Schultz of DeWitt, Doris (Bill) Nichols of Kansas City, Mo., Pricilla (George) Sarver of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Portia (Peter) Glann of Tampa, Fla.; one brother, Donald Robinson of Redwood City, Calif.; sister-in-law, Lois Robinson of Denver, Colo.; mother-in-law, Vera Bailey; and sister- and brother-in-law, Betty (LaVern) Silm, all of St. Johns. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dean Robinson. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Nov. 2, at the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns, with the Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or the American Cancer Society.Ruth BaileyRuth H. Bailey, 76, of St. Johns, died Oct. 21, 1998. She was employed at St. Johns Big Boy for 16 years. She was a member of St. Johns Church of the Nazarene, womens ministry at the church, the Missionary Society, and was Junior Choir Director. Funeral services were held Oct. 25 at the St. Johns Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Keith Sarver officiating. Burial was at South Bingham Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Osgood Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the St. Johns Church of the Nazarene, or Clinton Area Ambulance.Anna SchmittAnna I. Schmitt, 90, of Pewamo, died Oct. 16, 1998. She was born March 16, 1908, in Fowler, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Feldpausch) Koenigsknecht.Mrs. Schmitt was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Pewamo, the Altar Society, and a Blue Star Mother. She was preceded in death Nov. 1, 1997, by her husband, Martin Q. Schmitt; one daughter, Janice; a brother, Anthony; and a sister, Frances.Surviving are one son Mark J. (Delores) of Hubbardston; three grandchildren, Mark J. Schmitt Jr., Julie Schmitt, and Scott (Lisa) Schmitt; four step-grandchildren, Steve (Tricia) Fletcher, Kenneth Fletcher, Melinda (Steve) Brown, and Kelly Fletcher; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph (Katherine) Koenigsknecht, and Alfred (Anna Rose) Koenigsknecht, both of Fowler; three sisters, Regina Schmitt of Westphalia, Veronica Pohl of Pewamo, and Irene Harr of Fowler.The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 19 at St. Joseph Church with the Rev. Charlon Mason officiating. The Rite of Committal was held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Pewamo. Memorials may be made to the Church Education Trust Fund. Arrangements were made by Gorsline-Runciman Co., Neller Chapel, Portland.Elizabeth TefftElizabeth "Peggy" Tefft, 78, of Aberdeen, S.D., died Oct. 17, 1998. She was born July 6, 1920, in St. Johns, the daughter of Arlie J. and Clara Ann (Cooper) Butler. She graduated from St. Johns High School. She married Glee Elvin Tefft in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1987. They both entered the US Army in 1942; she as a nurse, and he as a career military person. They were stationed in the U.S., Canada, and the Pacific, and settled in the Virginia and Maryland areas after his retirement in 1967.The funeral service was held Oct. 20 at the Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, Aberdeen, with the Rev. Ronald Lane officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at the Lakemont Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Davidsonville, Md.Kenneth StilesKenneth A. Stiles, 73, of Columbus, Ind., died Oct. 16, 1998. He was a retired farmer. The funeral service was held Oct. 20 at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home, Corydon, Ind., with the Rev. Charles Wilfong officiating. Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery. |
