Tyler Bauer SeaveyTyler Bauer Seavey, infant son of Jacob and Mindy (Bauer) Seavey, died Nov. 13, 1998. Tyler was born Sept. 4, 1998, in Lansing.He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Stan and Janette Seavey of Grand Blanc, and Barry and Betty Bauer of St. Johns; great-grandparents, Ed and Gen Motz, Joe and Marge Seavey, all of St. Johns, and Janet Merwin of Leslie; aunts and uncles, Scott and Renee McCausey, Kristy Bauer, all of St. Johns, Stanley Seavey, Jr., of Grand Blanc, and Keith and Emily Johnson of Lansing; cousins, Nolan and Cameron McCausey, and Austin and Seanna Johnson.The funeral service was held Nov. 16 at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns, with Pastor Scott Becker officiating. Burial was at Mt. Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Lansing.Gertrude BastGertrude F. Bast, 91, of St. Johns, died Nov. 16, 1998. She was born Oct. 11, 1907, in St. Johns, the daughter of Valentine and Mary (Hettler) Karber. She lived all her life in St. Johns.Gertrude was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and Natalie Guild. Gertrude married Isadore Bast Oct. 30, 1930, in St. Johns. He preceded her in death in 1973.Surviving are one son, Gerald (Helen) Bast of St. Johns; one daughter, Mary Jean (Rick) Kerr of St. Johns; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; three nephews, Ken Munger, Chester Walton, and Edward Plunkett; two sisters-in-law, Leona Pearson of Alma, and Viola Pung of St. Johns. She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Bast, one grandson, and two great-grandsons.The funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 19 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Robideau officiating. Burial was at Mt. Rest Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the Arthritis Foundation.Dorothy MayDorothy M. May, 67, of St. Johns, died Nov. 14, 1998. She was born Dec. 12, 1930, in Lansing, the daughter of Howard C. and Louise G. (Barcelow) May. She lived in the St. Johns and Lansing areas most of her life.Dorothy was a retired registered nurse, a graduate of Hurley School of Nursing, a veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Johns.Surviving are her mother, Louise May of St. Johns; sister, Agnes (Earl) Moriarty of St. Johns; three brothers, Joseph (Carol) May of Holt, Robert (Arlene) May of Reed City, and Gary (Cherrie) May of St. Johns; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. The funeral service was held Nov. 17 at the First Baptist Church in St. Johns with Pastors Scott Becker and Curt Petrak officiating. Burial was at Ford Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns.Glenn PearsonGlenn Pearson, 90, of rural DeWitt, died Nov. 14, 1998. He was born April 7, 1908, in Riley Township, the son of William and Nellie (Brown) Pearson. He lived most of his life in the DeWitt area.Glenn was a farmer. He was retired from Motor Wheel in 1970. He was a member of Pilgrim United Methodist Church, and the Masonic Lodge. Glenn married Ruby P. Gedney Sept. 14, 1929, in Ontario, Canada, and she survives him. Also surviving are one son, Michael (Laura) Pearson of Illinois; five daughters, Virginia (Robert) Klauer of Arizona, Ann (Bernard) Wawsczyk, Sheila (John) Andrews, all of DeWitt, Eleanor (Russell) Glavin of Lansing, and Cheryl (Bernard) Lowe of Bath; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers.The funeral service was held Nov. 17 at Pilgrim United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Sundell officiating. Burial was at South Bingham Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to Pilgrim United Methodist Church.Claude Conklin, Jr.Claude Conklin Jr., 79, of Elsie, died Nov. 16, 1998.
