Oscar Simon Patricia Stafford

Oscar Simon

Oscar C. Simon, 93, of Fowler, died May 31, 1999. He was born Jan. 24, 1906 in Dallas Township, the son of Mathias and Helen (Fox) Simon. He lived all of his life in Dallas Township.

He was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and the Holy Name Society.

His marriage of 66 years to Bernita Sontag Oct. 15, 1929, ended with her death March 10, 1996.

Oscar is survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Robert) Gilroy of St. Johns, and Virginia (the late Bud) Ward of Portland; four sons, Gerald Simon of Kalamazoo, Roy (JoAnn) Simon of St. Johns, Marvin (Carol) Simon of Fowler, Ronald (Mary) Simon of DeWitt; 28 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.

The funeral Mass was celebrated June 3 at Most Holy Trinity Church with the Rev. Fr. Raymond Rademacher officiating. Burial was at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Goerge Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Home, Fowler. Memorials may be made to the Most Holy Trinity Educational Fund.

Patricia Stafford

Patricia C. (Proctor) Stafford, 61, of Eaton Rapids and formerly of St. Johns, died May 31, 1999. She was born March 20, 1938 in Lansing. Patricia worked hard as a loving wife and mother of seven children. She was preceded in death in 1959 by her infant daughter, Theresa, and in 1998 by her husband of 39 years, Paul Lee Stafford.

Surviving are her fiancee, Randy Bryson, of Eaton Rapids; her children, Michael (Anita) of Shelby Township, John (Lisa) of Holt, Anne (David) Schulert of Mulliken, James (Lisa) of Lansing, Catherine (Kerry) Nelson of Torch Lake, Nancy (Scott) Hill of Lansing, and Joseph (fiancee, Christy) of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild; two brothers, Jim Proctor of Lansing, and Tom (Elaine) Proctor of Belding; two sisters, Alberta Pelkie of Minnesota, and Laura (George) McCann of Lansing.

The funeral service was held June 3 at Field & Leik Funeral Home, Dimondale, with the Rev. John A. Toth officiating. Burial was at Dimondale Cemetery.
