Jack Hettler
Jack J. Hetter, 69, of St. Johns, passed away July 11, 1999. He was born July 18, 1929 in Detroit, the son of Louis and Mary (Vander Lee) Hettler. He lived all of his life in St. Johns.
He worked for Oldsmobile for 36-1/2 years, and was a member of UAW Local 652. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns..
His life partner of 49-1/2 years is Sally Ann (Saurbek) Hettler. They were married Feb. 1, 1950.
Jack was preceded in death by his grandson, Troy Van Belkum. Surviving are his wife, Sally; six sons, Mike (Deb), Jody (Camie), Jim (Julie), Chris (Theresa), Jeff (Bonnie), and Kurt (Karen); two daughters, Pam (Jim) Van Belkum and Cindy (Bruce (Irish); 17 grandchildren, Renee, Tony, Krystle, Chad, Justin, Brad, Traci, Lisa, Jason, Kevin, Tara, Tosha, Jack, Nicki, Jesse, Emily, Andy; two step-grandchildren, Emberly and Rich; two great-grandchildren, Jarred and Kali; two sisters, Audra Knight and Kay (Bill) Shaull.
The funeral service was held July 15 at the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns, with the Rev. Fr. Timothy Krzyzaniak officiating. Burial was at Mt. Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mid-Michigan Regional Dialysis Center.

Robin Chamberlain
Robin Chamberlain, 40, died July 9, 1999. She was born Oct. 5, 1958 in St. Johns, the daughter of Ronald and Barbara (Cone) Halstead. She lived most of her life in St. Johns.
She was a nurse's aid for Sparrow Hospital. She was a member of Mt. Hope Church.
Robin married Harvey Chamberlain April 22, 1978 in St. Johns. He preceded her in death Aug. 23, 1997.
Surviving are one son, Scott Chamberlain, and three daughters, Kristina, Nicole, and Sarah Chamberlain, all at home; her parents, Ronald and Barbara Halstead of St. Johns; two brothers, Ronald Halstead of St. Johns, and John (Carolyn) Halstead of Lansing; three sisters, Joyce Halstead of Apex, N.C., Sherry (Michael) Montague of Raleigh, N.C., and Cindy Halstead of Lynchburg, Virg.
The funeral service was held July 12 at the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns, with the Rev. Timothy Cockroft officiating. Burial was at South Bingham Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Chamberlain children.

Ruth Ike
Ruth M. Ike, 76, of St. Johns, died July 10, 1999. She was born Jan. 13, 1923 in St. Johns, the daughter of Belford R. and Florence E. (Acre) Ewer. She lived most of her life in Michigan.
Ruth was a retired professor and a graduate of the University of Michigan. She was a member of OES #69, Spile Dam Club, past state commander for the DAV Auxiliary, and past grand organist for OES.
Ruth married Donald E. Ike Sept. 6, 1941 in St. Johns, and he survives her.
Also surviving are a daughter, RuthAnn (Harold) Creamer of California; grandsons, Michael Creamer and James Creamer of California, granddaughter, Pamela Jeanne (William) Ferraioli of Washington; great-grandson, Blake Joseph Ferraioli of Washington; great-granddaughter, Caitlin Creamer of California; sister, Jeanne Temple of St. Johns; several nieces and nephews; and General Bugzee Ike. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Ewer.
The funeral service was held July 14 at the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns, with the Rev. Fred Fisher officiating. Burial was at Duplain Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Michigan Masonic Home, or Hospice of Ingham Medical.

Arthur Dale Scott, 64, of DeWitt, died July 9, 1999. Memorial services were held July 15 at Gorsline-Runciman Co., DeWitt Chapel.
