Thompson David Eugene Thompson, 52, of St. Johns, passed away Nov. 8, 1999. He retired in 1989 from Motor Wheel as a welding inspector after 26 years of service. Funeral services were held Nov. 12 at the Valley Farms Baptist Church, burial at Gunnisonville Cemetery with Pastor Bob Prange officiating. The family was served by the Osgood Funeral Home. Nicholas Joseph Bernath, 82, of Corunna, passed away Nov. 7, 1999. He was born Dec. 6, 1916 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Andro and Katherine (Duzek) Bernath. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in India and Burma with the U.S. Army. He was a mechanic at Harrleson Chevrolet for many years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, VFW-Owosso Post and ZCBJ Lodge. He also enjoyed farming and gardening. He married Marie Strachota Feb. 17, 1942, at St. Joseph Church, Pamona, Calif., and she survives him. Also surviving are, daughter Barbara (Cliff) Ondrias of Chesaning; son, Richard (Linda) Bernath of St. Johns; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Steve (Mary) Bernath of Flint, Joseph (Irene) Bernath of Bannister, and Frank (Mary) Bernath of Elsie; sister Josephine (Robert) Oberlin of Elsie; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert; a daughter, Patricia Schaeffer; a sister, Anna; and brother, Andrew. The Mass of Christian Burial was held Nov. 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. David Fisher officiating. The Rite of Committal was at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were made by the Mowen Funeral Home.
Fred K. Beyer, 96, of St. Johns, passed away Nov. 8, 1999. He was a retired designing engineer for Wesson Tool Company for 30 years. Graveside memorial services were held Nov. 12 at Wambold Cemetery, Remus. The family was served by the Osgood Funeral Home. |
