Kathleen Wilson

Kathleen A. Wilson, 42, of St. Johns, passed away Dec. 2, 1999. She was born in Lansing June 6, 1957, the daughter of Charles and Mary Ann (Stump) Gilbert. She lived the past 10 years in St. Johns.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul in St. Johns.

She married Ernest Wilson June 21, 1997, in St. Johns,and he survives her. Also surviving are one son, Dylan; parents Charles and Mary Ann Gilbert of Owosso; two brothers, Kenneth (Diane) Gilbert and William and Debra Gilbert, all of Owosso; two sisters, Susan (Eric) Johnson of Grand Haven, and Kayan (Scott) Poyer of Dimondale; 11 nieces and nephews, and many aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be held Dec. 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery, with the Rev. Fr. Timothy D. Krzyaniak officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, and 2-4, and 7-9, Monday at the funeral home with a Vigil service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the education trust fund for Dylan.

Gerald Livingston

Gerald C. Livingston, 61, of St. Johns, passed away Dec. 2, 1999. He was born Aug. 19, 1938, in Grand Rapids, the son of Clifford and Edna (Smith) Livingston. He lived in St. Johns since 1964.

He was the branch manager for State Spring Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He married Wanda L. Kolenbrander in Grand Rapids July 8, 1960. She preceded him in death Jan. 23, 1995.

Surviving are three sons, Jason (Linda) Livingston of Lincoln, John (Hannah) Livingston of Ithaca and Jesse (fiancee Casey Enright) Livingston of St. Johns; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Juliane, Jacob and Jamison; parents-in-law, John and Mary Jane Kolenbrander of Belmont. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Marshal.

The funeral services will be held Dec. 6 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Knaus officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice for Clinton County.

Elwood Hott

Elwood W. Hott, 79, of St. Johns, passed away Nov. 26, 1999. He was a retired farmer and a member of Duplain Church of Christ. Funeral services were held Nov. 29 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Duplain Cemetery, with the Rev. Steve Ruger and the Rev. Marty Moore officiating.

Edward Southward

Edward I. Southward, 66, of Eureka, passed away Nov. 30, 1999. He was born July 7, 1933 in Brookfield Twp., the son of Earl and Marita (Wright) Southward. He lived in Charlotte until 1993 before moving to Eureka.

He retired from M.N.R. Engineering in 1995. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of Waverly 39er's and Capitol City Seniors men's bowling leagues.

He married Dorothy Joyce Hodge in St. Johns on July 25, 1993 and she survives him.

Also surviving are five step-children, Elizabeth (Doug) Huntley of St. Johns, Tim E. (Moni) Gorman of Clare, Edward C. (Karen) Gorman, Jr., of Grand Rapids, Patrick (Ellen) Gorman of St. Johns and Ruthie (Terry) Goddard of Georgia; seven grandchildren; one brother, Wayne (Jane) Southward of Olivet and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter; two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held Dec. 4 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Eureka Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice for Clinton County or Eureka House.

Helen Deline

Helen L. Deline, 80, of St. Louis, passed away Nov. 30, 1999. She was a cosmetologist, housewife and sold Avon for 25 years. Funeral services were held Dec. 2 at Alward-Carter Funeral Home, St. Louis.

James Wolff

James P. Wolff, 81, of Corunna, passed away Nov. 28, 1999. He was a retired Tool and Die maker for Walker Manufacturing in Jackson. Graveside services were held Dec. 1 at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Jackson. The family was served by the Smith Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel.

Virginia Schafer

Virginia Schafer, 58, an Albuquerque resident since 1962, passed away peacefully at the family home Nov. 25, 1999 after a long battle with breast cancer.

She was owner and general manager of ABC Door Co. until her retirement in 1994. She loved the outdoors and was a Master Gardener. She was a talented seamstress and was active in the American Sewing Guild. An adventuresome person, she and her husband, David, traveled extensively and enjoyed many outings in their RV. She drew strength from her Living Through Cancer support group.

She is survived by her husband, David R. Schafer, and their children and grandchildren who gave her great joy, Cynthia Schafer M.D. and son Michael Forslund of Greeley, Colo.; Steve (Angie) Schafer and children Rachel and Kevin of Albuquerque, NM.; Tom (Teri) Schafer and children Aimee, Kyle, Nathan, Nicholas and David of Tijcras, NM.; Chris (Erin) Schafer and children Meagen Rodriguez, Amber Rodriguez, and Joshua Rodriguez of Albuquerque, NM.; Diane (Phil) Diane Callow and children JJ, Matt, and Leah of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Naomi Martin of Fowler, and brother and sister, George and Jane Martin of Fowler and East Lansing.

Cancer drained life from her body but failed to rob her her of her spirit. The family was served by the French Mortuary, Albuquerque, NM.
