Beverly Johnson Beverly J. Johnson, 61, St. Johns, went to be with her Lord Dec. 18, 1999. She was born Nov. 29, 1938 in Carson City, the daughter of Harry and Luetta (Pease) Vaughn. She lived in St. Johns the last 10 years, coming from Ashley. She was a member of the First Church of God in St. Johns and was a volunteer at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor. She married Ronald Johnson April 2, 1956 in Alma, and he survives her. Also surviving are four daughters, Robin (Bill) Lohrer of Perrinton, Ronda Johnson, Brenda (Lynn) Bradley, both of St. Johns, and Stephanie (Marc) Thomas of Lansing; four sons, Brian (Juanita) Johnson of Perrinton, Carl (Victoria) Johnson of Jackson, Ronald (Alicia) Johnson, Jr. of Silverdale, WA., and Chad (Jennifer) Johnson of St. Johns; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry (Edna) Vaughn of Perrinton; four sisters, Merita (Don) Loudenbeck, Audrey (Dick) Stoneman, both of Perrinton, Majel (Omar) Garberson of Alma and Ruth Ann (Bryon) Townsend of Ovid. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Joshua Lohrer; and mother-in-law, Minnie Johnson. Funeral services were held Dec. 22 at the Osgood Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Daniels officiating. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Carl F. Schultz, 83, of Ovid, passed away Dec. 19, 1999. He was born April 1, 1916 in Owosso, the son of Oscar and Aleta (Raymond) Schultz. He was a member of the U.S. Army and had owned and operated Carl's Texaco in Owosso for several years. He also was a farmer. He married Gladys Lawrence May 26, 1946 in Holland. He is survived by his wife Gladys; four sons, Duane (Sally) Schultz of Millington, Ernie Schultz of West Branch, Donald (Sharon) Schultz of Corunna, Roger (Karen) Schultz of Ovid; daughter, Janet (Orland) Ellison of West Branch; step-sons, Robert (Beverly) Lawrence of Ovid, Gary (Darlene) Lawrence of Fife Lake, Allan (Sharon) Lawrence of Ovid; step-daughter, Janet (William) Good of Owosso; sister, Lorena (Walter) Brown of Owosso; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, step grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Dec. 22 at the Houghton Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, Ovid, with the Rev. Marion Ellis officiating. Interment was at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns. Memorials may be made to Memorial Healthcare Hospice. Howard Robinson, 74, of Fenwick and formerly of Chapin, died Dec. 17, 1999 at his son's home in Roscommon. He was born March 21, 1925 in Elsie, the son of Frank and Arvilla (Miller) Robinson. He lived most of his life in the Chapin area. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and was a life member of V.F.W. Post #5065 in Sheridan. He retired in 1976 from General Motors Corp., Flint. He married Doris M. Patterson March 25, 1943. She died Jan. 15, 1992. He married Virginia Mae Andrew May 1, 1993, and she preceded him in death May 10, 1996. He married Sally Wiser May 22, 1997 in Sheridan, and she survives him. Also surviving are two daughters, Karen (Frank) Abnet of Oakley, and Connie Robinson of Chesaning; three sons, Donald (Sherry) Robinson of Grand Blanc, Jerry (Terry) Robinson of Grayling and Gale (Karla) Robinson of Roscommon; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Nettie, Edith, Helen and Arvilla. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elizabeth; and three brothers, George, Frank, and Milo. Funeral services were held Dec. 20 at Smith Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel, with the Rev. Merlin Pratt officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Elsie. Memorials may be made to the VFW National Children's Home, Eaton Rapids.
Leonard E. Zinn, 73, of Lakeview and formerly of Alma, passed away Dec. 16,1999. He retired from Alma Products after 42 years of service. Funeral services were Dec. 21 at the St. Louis Church of the Nazarene. The family was served by the Alward-Carter Funeral Home, St. Louis.
Victor J. Pope, 73, of Maple Rapids, passed away Dec. 19, 1999. He was born Sept. 9, 1926, in Duplain Township, the son of George and Mamie (Burnham) Pope. Hed lived in the St. Johns area most of his life. He retired from Sealed Power after 31 years of service. He was a veteran of U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He married Beatrice Mundy Sept. 28, 1945, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She preceded him in death Nov. 15, 1996. Surviving are four daughters, Sharon (Edward) Parrish of Chandler, Ariz., Vicki Peck of Laingsburg, Betty (Robert) Devereaux and Kathy (Terry) Dean both of St. Johns; one son, George Pope of Laingsburg; close friend, Wanita Croad; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters Terezia Werner of Lake George and Joanne (Larry) Sisco of Elsie. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters. Funeral services were held Dec. 22 at the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating. Military graveside services were provided by V.F.W. Post #4113 and American Legion Post #153. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Joseph V. Krajcovic, 81, of Owosso, passed away Dec. 20, 1999. He retired from Johnson Control of Owosso. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Dec. 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family was served by Smith Funeral Home, Corunna Chapel. |
