It’s a family affair

The other day we received an email message from – I won’t say an old friend; I will say a friend of long-standing. Ruth Henning just had to tell us the good news about her granddaughter, Alexa Ruestman.

"All the girls put a lot of time and effort into this, and one of the highlights is getting recognition in the local paper," Ruth writes.

Then she goes on to tell us that Alexa’s sister, Megan Ruestman, was the first Junior Miss Mint in 2005.

"It was special to Alexa to have reached the same accomplishment," she added.

Well, we should say so. It sounds to us like we have the makings of a mini-dynasty here.

We here at the SJ Indy want to congratulate Paul and Ruth Henning. We also don’t want to forget the girls’ mother, the former Jeannie Henning. We have known Jeannie since before she was born; and while we have trouble believing that she is old enough to be the mother of these lovely young ladies, we cannot deny that there is a strong family resemblance.
