Dr. James Schweigart and Museum Director Catherine Rumbaugh cut the ribbon for the official opening of the Swegles General Store and Dental Office. Dr. Schweigart represented local dentists at the dedication.

The Clinton County Historical Society, Archives, Genealogists and Museum held a special celebration at the Museum Complex on Saturday, June 21. The dedication of the newly created, 1860’s-era Swegles General Store, as well as the mid-twentieth century Dental Office was a feature of the day. Also honored were Early Settlers, Early Families and Centennial Farms of Clinton County. Between 40 and 50 people attended the dedication.

Help the Clinton County Archives preserve the history of Clinton County. Photo scanning is available, but digital copies are preferred.

Especially needed are pictures relating to early factories, machine shops, foundries, blacksmith shops, sawmills, auto and farm implement dealers, gas stations, restaurants, hotels and other businesses and of the people who owned or operated them. Photos of early homesteads, country schools, farming activities, (especially mint farming) would be great additions.
