Fr. William Koenigsknecht Rev. Fr. William Koenigsknecht, St. Johns, MI Formerly of Lansing Age 90, died Sunday, April 28, 2002. The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated, Wednesday, May 1, 2002, 10:30 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church with Bishop Carl F. Mengeling as celebrant, Rev. Fr. William Koenigsknecht as homeliest and other Priests of the Lansing Diocese concelebrating. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends, Monday, April 29, 2002, from 6-8 PM and Tuesday, April 30, 2002, from 12-3 and 5-8 PM at St. Therese Catholic Church, where a Rosary will be prayed, Monday at 8:00 PM and a Vigil Service will be held Tuesday at 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Therese Catholic Church or the charity of one's choice. Arrangements were made by Palmer-Bush Delta Chapel. Age 63 of St. Johns, Michigan passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in St. Johns. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 26, 2002 at 11:00 A.m. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Rev. Kay Pratt will officiate with burial at Duplain Township Cemetery in Duplain Township, Michigan. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 P.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.m. Ronald was born on December 30, 1938 in Flint, Michigan the son of Alfred and Helen (Bates) Cramer. On September 17, 1966 he married Elaine Marie Roy in Ovid, Michigan. Ronald retired in 1991 from B.O.C in Lansing. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed making woodcrafts. He attended Shepardsville United Methodist Church and resided most of his life in Clinton County. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Cramer of St. Johns, 4 daughters, Pamela Belknap of Alma, Helen McCarrick of Gladwin, Julie & Greg Nieto of Six Lakes, Sandra & Lloyd McMaster of Elsie, 2 sons, Donald & Danette Cramer of St. Johns, Roger Cramer & Fiancé September of St. Johns, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Joyce & Gerald Davis of Elsie, Anna & Mike Pruitt of Traverse City, 3 brothers, Leroy Cramer of Harrison, Eugene Cramer of St. Johns and Harold & Iola Cramer of Harrison. Ronald is predeceased by his parents and 3 brothers. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Vicki J. Tomlinson died April 23, 2002 at the age of 51. She was born in St. Johns on June 19, 1950, the daughter of Gus and Eleanor M. (Bates) Paseka and lived in St. Johns all her life. She was a teachers aide at Gateway North Elementary School and worked in shipping and receiving at Wal-Mart. Vicki was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #851, V.F.W. #4113 Ladies Auxiliary and Women of the Moose #1281. Surviving are her daughter, Stacy Tomlinson of St. Johns, son, Jeff Tomlinson of Oregon, two grandsons, Chase Hulliberger and Justin Carroll, both of St. Johns and sister, Becky (Keith) Love of Ovid. Funeral services will be 3:30 P.M. Friday, April 26, 2002 at the Osgood Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Cockroft officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Hilda C. Volz, Grand Ledge Formerly of DeWitt Born April 12, 1906, in St. Joseph, MN; died April 22, 2002, at the age of 96. Mrs. Volz was a member of the Catholic Community of St. Jude, DeWitt, the Lioness Club of DeWitt and the Daughters of Isabella in South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. in 1986; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; and son-in-law, James L. Boyd. Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn V. Boyd of DeWitt; 1 son, Arthur J. Jr. (Diem) Volz of Houston, TX; 5 grandchildren, Kathryn (Kevin) Thelen, Kevin (Sylke) Boyd, Jennifer, Veronika and Marc Volz; and 5 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kendra and Kirk Thelen, Timm Uhlmann and Teresa Boyd. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 26, at 10 AM at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 N. Bridge St., DeWitt, with the Rev. Dwight M. Ezop, Pastor, officiating. The Rite of Committal will be held Friday at 2:30 PM Central Time in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. DeWitt Chapel, 111 S. Franklin St., DeWitt, on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with the Rosary being prayed at 7 PM. Romilda E. Simon, Pewamo Age 93, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2002. She was born January 28, 1909, the daughter of Peter and Theresia (Schafer) Hufnagel. Mrs. Simon was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius John Simon; grandchildren, Debra and Steven Piper; brothers, Herman and Arnold Hufnagel; sisters, Rose Thelen, Chlotilda Hengesbach and Martha Esch. Surviving are daughters, Marie (Joseph) Kavanagh of Pewamo, Rita (Jim) Kolp of Grand Blanc, Alice Kus of DeWitt; sons, Stanley (Barbara) Simon of Pewamo and Ken (Pat) Simon of Westphalia; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are brother-in-law, Gilbert Hengesbach and sister-in-law, Bernita Pohl. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charlon O. Mason, Pastor, at 10:30 AM Friday, April 26, 2002 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rite of Committal following at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia from 7-9 PM Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday. The Rosaries will be prayed at 8 PM Wednesday and 3 PM Thursday, with a Scripture Wake Service Thursday evening at 8 PM. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Margaret Adamski, St. Johns Margaret Adamski, 94 years old, died April 22, 2002. She was born October 21, 1907. She was survived by a son, William, 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She owned the St. Johns Greenhouse for 44 years. She was beloved by all. She was an active member of the St. Johns Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, and died faithful. A Memorial Service will be held at 5 PM April 28, 2002 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1998 N. Lansing St., St. Johns, MI 48879, with Ron Dean officiating. Stanley J. Mudget died April 19, 2002 at the age of 82. Born in White Cloud, Michigan March 3, 1920, he was the son of Arthur and Edith M. (Goyings) Mudget and lived most of his life in Clinton County. He worked at the St. Johns Co-Op for 47 years. On December 24, 1944 he married Pauline L. Teachout and she preceded him in death October 2, 1994. He is survived by two daughters, Janet (Charlie) Bensinger of Harrison and Gloria Baker (Special Friend Rick Kirgis) of Ashley, two sons, Gary Mudget of Florida and Virn (Jan) Mudget of St. Johns, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, one brother Lyle Mudget of Lansing, three sisters, Mildred (Tony) Lyman of St. Johns, Joyce (Al) Sheldon of Shepardsville and Velma Price of St. Johns and sister-in-law, Ardith Mudget of St. Johns. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by two brothers Harold and Jerry Mudget. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 22, 2002 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating. Memorials may be made to the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Claire C. (Tabin) Tomkiewicz, aged 88, of DeWitt, formerly of Grand Rapids, our beloved mother, died April 18, 2002 at home. Born February 6, 1914 in Grand Rapids and resided there until 1996. She was a resident of DeWitt until her death. She was employed by the law firm of Reamon, Williams, Klukowski, and Drew for 35 years. Mrs. Tomkiewicz was a longtime member of St. Isidore Church, Grand Rapids, the Ladies Altar Society, and Secular Franciscan Order and member of the Catholic Community of St. Jude since moving to DeWitt in 1996. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Stanley Tomkiewicz, in 1999. Surviving are her children, Gerard A. (Therese) Tomkie of DeWitt, Robert J. (Shannon) Tomkie of Lathrop Village, and Janie M. (Alan) Klopp of Waterford; six grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated, April 22, 11 a.m. at the Catholic Community of St. Judy, 801 N. Bridge St., DeWitt with the Father Dwight M. Ezop, Pastor, officiating. The Rite of Committal will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MI. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. DeWitt Chapel, 111 S. Irving Alger Arnett, Jr. died April 19, 2002 at the age of 70. He was born in Owosso on April 7, 1932, the son of Irving and Marie (Tinklepaugh) Arnett, Sr. and lived in St. Johns most of his life. He was a tile setter for Imperial Tile and Carpeting, was an avid sportsman and enjoyed reading. Irving married Geraldine Carpenter in Owosso on July 2, 1965 and she survives him. Also surviving are his daughter, Joyce Arnett, grandsons, Ian Austin and Joshua Coon and sisters, Edith Arnett, Sharron McIntyre, Shirley Motz, Sandra VanGeertruy and Laura Chunko. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at the Osgood Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Knaus officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Monday at the funeral Home. |
