A. Fedewa Donald A. Fedewa died May 26, 2003 at the age of 75 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Westphalia on June 26, 1927, the son of Herbert and Martha (Stump) Fedewa. He was a retired Fisher Body fork truck driver, a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters and the U.A.W. Donald married Marilyn Halfmann on May 22, 1954. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn Fedewa, his daughters, Judy (Claud) Rademacher of Fowler, Donna (Jim) Bengel of DeWitt and Jane Fedewa of Lansing, sons, Roy (Barb) Fedewa of Fowler and Neil (Loretta) Fedewa of St. Johns, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, sister, Florence (Ed) Schneider of Lansing, brothers, Paul (Lucille) Fedewa of Westphalia and James (Maxine) Fedewa of St. Johns, sister-in-law, Delores Fedewa of Westphalia and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Fedewa. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 30, 2003 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, burial at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Timothy E. MacDonald officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Wednesday and Thursday at the Goerge Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, Fowler, with a rosary prayed 3 and 8 P.M. Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice for Clinton County. Raynold Henry Miller, Pewamo, MI Age 88, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2003. He was born on March 29, 1915 in Pewamo, MI, the son of Anthony and Anna (Klein) Miller. Mr. Miller was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo. He married the former Rita G. Gensterblum in Portland on November 8, 1941. He was a lifetime farmer and retired from the State of Michigan Motor Transport Division. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard Miller; sister, Laura Koenigsknecht. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Rita G. of Pewamo; 4 children, Mary Ann (Lance) Jepson of Tallahassee, FL, Bettie (Jim) Hillabrandt of Pinckney, MI, Donald L. Miller of Portland, and Thomas F. (Debbie) Miller of Perrinton, MI; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sarah Kowatch of Pewamo and Florence Koenigsknecht of Fowler; several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charlon O. Mason, Pastor at 10:30 AM Thursday, May 29, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rite of Committal following at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia from 7-9 PM Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday. The rosaries will be prayed at 8 PM Tuesday and 3 PM Wednesday. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 PM Wednesday. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Aldon W. "Buck" Bellon, DeWitt, MI Born August 17, 1925 in Lehr, ND; died May 26, 2003 at the age of 77. Buck had retired as a Mechanic for Diamond Reo after 30 years of faithful service. He was a former member of the DeWitt Moose Lodge #2291 and a lifelong avid hunter and fisherman. Buck was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Mae (Brenke), on July 9, 1999, and brother, Archie K. Bellon, who was killed in action in Korea. Surviving are his daughter, Lynda J. (Rex) Colthorp of DeWitt; sons, Randy Lee (Diane) Bellon of Traverse City and Earl Ricky (Alberta) Bellon of Adrian, PA; grandsons, John Mark and Randy Lee; great-grandson, Dakota John; brothers, Rolland D. (Emma) Bellon of Grand Ledge, Ivan H. (Luella) Bellon and sisters, Avis Shroyer and LaVerne Stump, all of Lansing. Also surviving are his stepchildren, step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 30, at Noon at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, with Pastor Curtis Napier, of Okemos Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing. He grew up in St. Johns Michigan and received degrees from Michigan State University, Ohio University and an MBA from Ball State University. He spent his career working in the glass container industry in Sales and Manufacturing. For the past three years, Edward has worked in Jacksonville, Florida, for Saint-Gobain Containers Corp. with the Bacardi Bottling Corporation. Family members include his wife of 35 years, Barbara Dean Coletta; sons Brant and wife, Karen of New York City and Spencer of Madison, Wisconsin; his parents, Charles and Velma Coletta of St. Johns, Michigan; brother, Richard and his wife, Kathy of St. Johns, Michigan, and their three children, Richard, Jason and James. Ed was a loving husband, devoted father and always served as a source of inspiration and wisdom to his family and friends. He enjoyed a challenge and was a keen competitor who will be sorely missed by his many associates and golfing friends. Honoring his request, there will be no service. Beckwith, DeWitt, MI Age 66, died May 23, 2003. Born January 14, 1937 in Lansing. Mr. Beckwith was preceded in death by his father, Clayton and brother, Richard. Surviving are his mother, Mildred E. Beckwith of DeWitt; 2 sons, Michael (Renee) of Lansing and Patrick (Marjorie) of Boston; 3 grandchildren, Rachel, Jared and Patrick; 1 great-granddaughter, Amber Shayler; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 10:00 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. DeWitt Chapel, 111 S. Franklin, DeWitt. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens, Lansing. Clemens Mathias Kloeckner, 89, of Riley Township died May 22, 2003, at the home on Forest Hill Road in Riley Township that he and his wife, Marcella, shared for the past 62 years. He loved the land and was a meticulous farmer whose penchant for "doing things right" remained unchanged even after he retired from driving his green Deutz tractor. Clemens was born May 7, 1914 in Riley Township, the fifth child of Joseph and Dorothea (Thelen) Kloeckner. He lived and worked on the family farm on Centerline Road until his marriage Jan. 29, 1941, to Marcella Witt. He and Marcella lived and farmed on the homestead of her parents following their marriage. Clem also worked off the farm for several different businesses, including Dick Johnson's Sawmill in Bengal Township and Fedewa Builders in Westphalia. When he "retired," fellow workers from both places often stopped to visit with Clem and Marcella, telling and retelling "work" stories and enjoying the company of the "old guy." He was respected as being a hard worker, and for his honesty and fairness in his dealings with all people. He was a life-long member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fowler. He graduated from the eighth grade at Hill School on Centerline Road in Bengal Township and attended Most Holy Trinity School for Confirmation classes. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds on television, was a great 'home contestant' of Jeopardy, and a regular viewer of The Lawrence Welk Show every Saturday night. He was a better than average Euchre player - he and Marcella spent many, many happy times playing with their life-long friends, Alfred and Doris Mohnke. He also loved to dance in his earlier years. His greatest enjoyment was his family. He was much loved by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Surviving are his wife, Marcella; children, Sherry (Duane) Stearns of Grand Rapids, Rollie (Marilyn) Kloeckner of DeWitt, and Rhonda Westfall of Riley Township; grandchildren, Mike (Marie) Stearns of Grand Rapids, Lisa (Brian) Lancaster of Jenison, Aaron (Karrie) Gaffney of Charlevoix, Brent (Anndrea) Gaffney of St. Johns and Doak Klasko of Lansing; great-grandchildren, Amelie and Nathan Stearns, Tyler and Jake Lancaster, Gwendolyn and Caleb Gaffney and Ella Gaffney; sister-in-law, Leona Kloeckner of Fowler, brother-in-law Carl Heiler of Dimondale; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and sisters, Alfred Kloeckner, Leona Balzak, Raymunda Mahaffey, Estella Heiler and Martin Kloeckner. The funeral Mass will be held Tuesday May 27, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Most Holy
Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Mr. Lynn Henning of Royal Oak as Deacon

County. Reuben Pontious age 92 of Bannister, Michigan passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003 at Carson City Hospital in Carson City, Michigan. He retired from Harris-McBurney Telephone Construction Company in 1971. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Mrs. Kathy Leydorf will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be Monday from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Reuben was born May 11, 1911 the son of Homer & Mary E. (Rollins) Pontious. On November 23, 1931 he married Ada E. Walters in St. Johns, Michigan. She passed away on January 6, 2003. Reuben attended the Bannister United Methodist Church. He loved playing cards, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed having dogs and horses. Survivors include one daughter, Marlene and Charles Swarthout of Bannister, three sons, Gary and Janice Pontious of Roscommon, Bruce and Joyce Pontious of Sonora, CA, Gene and Patience Pontious of Eugene, OR, 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Ruth and three brothers, Leon, Leroy and Paul. Memorials may be made to the Bannister United Methodist Church. The family is being

Stambersky age 80 of Bannister, Michigan passed away Saturday, May 17, 2003 at Carson City Hospital in Carson City, Michigan. She worked for Motor Products in Owosso for 27 years retiring in 1977. On February 14, 1984 she married Edwin Stambersky in Ashley, Michigan. Jean was a member of the Bannister United Methodist Church and she was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary Mark Daniels Post in Perrinton. She enjoyed playing pool and euchre, and she had a love for all animals. Jean also enjoyed hearing and telling a good joke and she resided most of her life in Gratiot County, Michigan. Survivors include her husband, Edwin Stambersky of Bannister, four daughters, Mildred Shively of Dallas, TX, Linda & Ivan Robinson of Ithaca, Vonette Dolloff of Ithaca, Dayna & Alfred Page of Ithaca, one son, James Rooksberry of Roanoke, VA, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, two sisters, Doris McPherson of Ithaca and Florence Stiles of St. Louis.
