Lyn Robinson Sherri Lyn Robinson, 49, aviation industry secretary, died Monday November 3, 2003 of natural causes. There will be no services. Arrangements by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns. A loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, L. Jean Beagle died November 2, 2003, at the age of 72. She was born in Van Alstyne, Texas on April 12, 1931, the daughter of William and Neva (Hammonds) Adams. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, enjoyed volunteering at Clinton Memorial Hospital, traveling, and most of all, her family. She will always be remembered for her giving, selfless nature, her kind heart, and friendly smile. Jean married Chester B. Beagle, Jr. in Texas on October 31, 1950, and he preceded her in death. Surviving are her sons, Mark Beagle of Lansing, Clint (Rhonda) Beagle of St. Johns and Matthew (Abigail) Beagle of Dansville, two daughters, Patricia (Dewey) Bunting of St. Johns and Theresa (Kelly) Bolin of Cincinnati, OH, eleven grandchildren, Melissa (Corey) Burns, Keith (Marci) Bunting, Jason Bunting, Heather Beagle, Kevin Beagle, Molly Beagle, Adam Beagle, Kelly Beagle, Katie Beagle, Kyle Bolin and Evan Bolin, eight great grandchildren, Brooke Burns, Quentin Burns, Zachary Burns, Jade Bunting, Cole Bunting, Trevor Bunting, Tyler Bunting and Noah Bunting, three sisters, Juanita Forehand of Howe, TX, Pauline Bradbury of Orange, MA and Reba McGee of Sherman, TX, one brother, Sam Adams of Bishop, CA, sister-in-law, Barbara (Ernest) Fedewa of Lake Placid, FL and brother-in-law, Robert Beagle of Traverse City. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, James, Jack and John Adams, one sister, Margie Adams, daughter-in-law, Roberta Beagle, parents-in-law, Chester and Nettie Beagle and sister-in-law, Jacque Beagle. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Osgood Funeral Home with a vigil service at 8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Lola Margaret (Blanchard) Lerg Lola Margaret (Blanchard) Lerg, Lansing, MI Born February 5, 1915, in Hersey, MI, the daughter of Glen R. and Hattie (McLachlan) Blanchard; died October 31, 2003, at the age of 88. Mrs. Lerg moved to Three River, MI, in 1922, graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1933, and worked in Three Rivers Federal Land Bank office from 1938 to 1941. She transferred to St. Johns Federal Lansing Bank office in 1941, married Lavern Lerg, of DeWitt, MI, on May 8, 1943 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI, and was a founding member of the Catholic Community of St. Jude, DeWitt. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1997, her parents and her sister, Hazel Mohney, also preceded her in death. Surviving are her sons, John (Betty) of Byron Center, Roger (Kim) of St. Johns, Dean (Katherine) of Zionsville, IN, and Paul (Robin) of Bloomfield Hills; 7 grandchildren; and brother, Argie L. Blanchard of The Villages, FL. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 3, at 10 a.m. at the Catholic Community of St. Jude, 801 Bridge St., DeWitt, with the Rev. Father Dwight M. Ezop officiating. The Rite of Committal will be held in Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. DeWitt Chapel, 111 S. Franklin St., DeWitt, on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Monday 1 hour prior to the Service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to her church. Earl S. Slagell, 92, of Goshen, Ind., and formerly of St. Johns, passed away Oct. 26, 2003, at Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen. He was born in Fisher, Ill., Feb. 24, 1911, the son of Sam and Barbara (Zehr) Slagell. He worked at Burton Mixer in St. Johns for 26 years, and was a custodian at Bethany Christian High School, retiring in 1984. He was a member of East Goshen Mennonite Church. He was predeceased by his parents; first wife, Dorothy (Sharick) Slagell in 1946, and second wife Annabell (Kauffman) Slagell in 1981; brothers, Ralph Slagell and Ollie Slagell; grandson, Christopher Slabaugh. Surviving are daughters, Loretta (Rollin) Newcomer of Wakarusa, Ind., Barbara (Phillip) Landis of Lancaster, Penn., Jeanette (Jerry) Slabaugh of Goshen, Ind.; son, Richard Slagell of Kalamazoo; brother, Harold Slagell of St. Johns; sisters, Dorothy (Gene) Whitford of Ashley, Marie ( Leslie) Kindel of DeWitt, and Viola Bontrager of Goshen, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held Oct. 31 at East Goshen Mennonite Church with Pastor Jane Miller Leatherman and Pastor Merle Hosteter officiating. Burial followed at Violett Cemetery in Goshen, Ind. Arrangements were handled by Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen, Ind. Contributions may be made to East Goshen Mennonite Church or Care at Home Hospice of Goshen General Hospital. Virginia Anna (Pung) Mitchell, Lansing, MI Age 87, died October 28, 2003. Mrs. Mitchell was born November 26, 1915 in Riley Township, Clinton County, the daughter of Frank and Lena (Martin) Pung. She married George H. Mitchell on September 9, 1944. She was a member of St. Gerard Church. She retired from the State of Michigan, after serving many years as an Administrative Assistant in the House of Representatives. She is survived by Jane E. (Michael) Arntson of Lansing, Rita L. Mitchell and her husband Edward Steinman of Ann Arbor; granddaughters, Jill Erica and Myki Lynn Arntson; sisters, Esther Nickel, Gladys Stump, Lucille (Delbert) Bohr, Patricia Snyder, and Helen Trierweiler; brother, Martin (Monica) Pung; sisters-in-law, Esther Pung and May E. Elliott; and brother-in-law, James Goff; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by George, her husband of 49 years in 1993; daughter, Margaret in 1955; and son, Joseph in 1987; sister, Genevieve Goff; and brother, Louis Pung. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday, October 30 with a 7 PM Thursday Vigil Rosary in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw. Funeral Liturgy is 12:30 PM Friday, October 31, at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, with Fr. John P. Klein presiding. Rite of Committal St. Joseph Cemetery.
