Wolfe Robert D. Wolfe went to his rest January 25, 2004, at the age of 82. He was born July 18, 1921, in Alma Michigan, the son of Everett and Gladys (Hall) Wolfe. He married Mildred Hunt June 1, 1941 in Ovid. Bob was a Die Sinker by trade and worked for Lansing Die Sinking Co. until he retired in 1985, after 37 years of service. Bobs great love was country music; he played many instruments and belonged to the Mint City Jammers. He was an artist (creating many wood carvings), a carpenter and an inventor. He also loved fishing, especially in Canada, was a great horseman, trainer and 4-H leader. Bob had a great joy for living, always telling stories and giving hope and encouragement to others. He is survived by Millie, his wife of 62 years, four daughters, Sandy (Maurice) Woodworth, Sally Newcombe, Ginny (Gary) Stambersky and Betty (Eric) White, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, brother, Larry Wolfe of California and sister, Nila Fruchey of Ovid. Preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Gladys Wolfe and his beloved dog Sparky. Bob will be sadly missed by all. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 31, 2004 at the Houghton Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, Ovid, with Pastor Herb Smith and Joe Coblentz officiating. Contributions can be made to Hospice for Clinton County. Michael S. Fivecoat died January 25, 2004, at the age of 32. He was born in St. Johns on October 10, 1971, the son of Dick and Sandra (Orweller) Fivecoat. He was a truck driver. Mike married Rena Seifert and she survives him. Also surviving is his daughter, Jessika Fivecoat, stepson, Michael Schneider, sister, Laurie Fivecoat of Arizona, father, Dick Fivecoat of Texas, mother, Sandra (Michael) Wing of DeWitt and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 30, 2004 at the Osgood Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to his childrens education fund. W. Jeanne Walter, retired Office Manager for Ovid Dental Office, died Sunday, January 25, 2004 at the age of 77. Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid. The family will receive friends at the Houghton Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. and Wednesday 12 Noon until time of service. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to Ovid Healthcare Center. Florence Ida Glancy, 83, of St. Johns, died January 23, 2004. She was born October 6, 1920, in Bay City, Michigan to George and Ida (Ruhnau) Griebe. She moved back to St. Johns after living twenty years in Ocala, Florida. Florence married Richard Glancy August 22, 1940, and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1990. Also preceding her in death were an infant daughter, sister, Marge Eastin and both parents. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Roumell of St. Johns, one son, James (Donna) Glancy of Royal Oak, granddaughters, Nadine (Tom) Stinnett, Nancy (John) Denslow and Monika (Jan) Davies, great grandchildren, Cody and Sydnee Stinnett, Kathleen, Richie and Dillon Denslow and Austin Davies and sisters, Eleanor Wiedel and Helen Griebe of Roseville, MI. No local services will be held. Funeral arrangements by Osgood Funeral Home. Virginia A. Allen went to be with the Lord , January 22, 2004 at the age of 74. She was born November 28, 1929 in Maple Rapids, the daughter of Dr. Dee and Mary (Ostrom) Allen, born in the same house that she was living in when she passed away. Virginia was a graduate of Maple Rapids High School, Albion College, Bronson Methodist School of Nursing and Central Michigan University. She was a R.N. and served as school nurse for Kalamazoo Schools for 38 years. Virginia had many interests and was a member of the Maple Rapids United Methodist Church, the D.A.R., a lifetime member of the O. E. S., Chapter #69 of Elsie, was the Past President of Huntley National Association and Past President of Michigan Nursing Association and also traveled to China and Australia under an ambassadorship program sponsored by the Kalamazoo School system. She is survived by her brother, Donald (Nancy) Allen of Maple Rapids, brother in law, John D. Meier of Swartz Creek, niece, Brenda Simmons of St. Johns, nephews, Mark Allen of Maple Rapids, Stephen Allen of Vanderbilt, Randy Meier of Traverse City, Dan Meier of White Lake Twp., and Ron Meier of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dorothy Meier. Services will be held at the Maple Rapids United Methodist Church, Monday, January 26, 2004 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Martin Cobb officiating. Burial at Sowle Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Maple Rapids United Methodist Church fund for a Handicap Accessible Ramp. Cora M. (Enos) Nesbit died January 22, 2004, at the age of 89. She was born in Isabella County, MI on September 25, 1914, the daughter of Singleton and Bertha (Coppes) Buxton. She was a homemaker. Cora married Frank N. Enos in Ovid in 1932 and he preceded her in death. She married Archie Nesbit in Saginaw County, MI on July 5, 1958 and he preceded her in death. Surviving are her sons, Fred (fiancé Karlene Snyder) Enos of Elsie and Frank (Carol) Enos of Missouri, daughter, Glenna Mankey of Arkansas, twelve grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 26, 2004 at the Houghton Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, Ovid, burial at Maple Grove Cemetery with The Rev. Billie Lou Gillespie-Brown officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Ashley Healthcare Center. Deanna K. Wineland, Southgate, MI Age 65, died December 24, 2003 at her home in Southgate. She was born in Lansing May 30, 1938, the daughter of Neil and Elizabeth DeMoss. She lived most of her adult life in DeWitt. Mrs. Wineland married Lloyd Wineland April 10, 1965 in St. Johns. She was a long-time member of East DeWitt Bible Church and more recently of Charity Baptist Church in Taylor, MI. She was a homemaker. Her husband Lloyd predeceased her in 1996. Surviving are her children, Kimberlee (Richard) Valentine of San Diego, CA, Timothy (Chitra) Wineland of Dunn Loring, VA, and Carrie (Cliff) Banks of Southgate, MI; and five grandsons. Service was at Molnar Funeral Home in Southgate on December 26, with Pastor Ken Brown officiating. Interment was at DeWitt Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church in Taylor, MI. Helen E. (Hankey) Sharick went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 21, 2004, at the age of 88. She was born in Ashley, MI on January 23, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Louisa Johnson. She was a teacher for many years, worked in the office of the governor as a secretary, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She married Dale Hankey and he preceded her in death in 1976. She married Vernon Sharick and he survives her. Also surviving are her children, Janet (Russ) Noble of Mason, Charles (Sharon) Hankey of Port Huron and Brian (Char) Hankey of Mason, nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and sister, Ella Mae Beck of St. Johns. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church. Parker, Traverse City, MI Formerly of DeWitt, MI Age 91, died January 20, 2004. Born February 2, 1912 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Mrs. Parker was a resident of DeWitt for over 50 years. She was employed as a private duty nurse and worked for the Clinton County Health Department and the St. Johns School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Edward Parker. Surviving are 2 daughters, Judith Ann (James) Drinan of Bradenton, FL and Peggy Gaston of Westland, MI; 2 sons, Gary H. (Cheryl) of Riverside, CA and David E. (Kay) of Brookville, IN; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 24, at Noon, at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. DeWitt Chapel, 111 S. Franklin, DeWitt, with the Rev. Larry Nalett, officiating. Interment will follow in DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt, MI. The family will receive friends at the Chapel Friday from 6-8 PM. Ervadene E. Walter, St. Johns, MI Formerly of Drummond Island Passed away Jan. 20th, 2004. Ervadene was born May 12, 1918 on Drummond Island. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William and her daughter, Jane Putney. She is survived by one brother, Jack (JoAnn) Grubaugh of Florida, two sons Philip (Barbara) Walter and Tom (Kathy) Walter all of DeWitt. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions could be made to your favorite charity.
