Dorothy E. Sauber

Dorothy E. Sauber, 88 died Saturday July 17, 2004 at Ovid Healthcare Center.  Dorothy was born on Nov. 7, 1915 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of Floyd & Wilda (Hipkins) Johnson.  On June 26, 1949 she married Carlton Sauber in Ovid.  He preceded her in death on July 21, 1970 as did their son Thomas in 1965. Dorothy was a Licensed Practical Nurse, working at Owosso Memorial Hospital and at Dietz Nursing Home, a member of Ovid United Church, an avid reader and enjoyed conversations.

Survived by sister Donna Kusenda of Ovid Preceded by sister Barbara Price.

Funeral services will be on Monday, July 19, 2004 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Rob McPherson officiating.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI Visitation will be 12-8:00 P.M. Sunday with the family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. and on Monday noon until service time.

Memorials may be given to Ovid Public Library.

Albert J. Warren

Albert J. Warren died July 15, 2004 at the age of 89. He was born in Victor Township on July 11, 1915, the son of Jay and Maude (Finch) Warren. He attended Sherburne School graduating in 1933 from Ovid High School. His life work was farming and he retired from Ovid Roller Mills in 1980. He enjoyed working in his garden, mowing his big lawn and being outdoors. Albert married Betty Wilson in Fremont, Michigan on March 8, 1941 and she survives him.

Also surviving is his daughter, Nancy (Ed) Henderson of East Lansing, granddaughter, Karlet Johnston of Lubbock, TX, five great grandchildren, Caleb, Kaylee, Colby and twins, Amber and Andrew, sister, Ruby Ashley of Laingsburg, stepbrother, Francis (Ann) Ferden of Ovid, many nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Charles and sister, Jennie Blackburn.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Houghton Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, Ovid, burial at Maple Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Gordon Schleicher officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 P.M. Friday and Saturday 9 A.M. until service time at the funeral home with family present 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday and Saturday one hour prior to service time. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to Middlebury United Methodist Church in memory of Albert.


David Jeremiah Luce

David Jeremiah Luce age 26 of DeWitt, Michigan died Friday July 9, 2004 in Eastpoint, Michigan.

Ther will be no Funeral Services.

David was born in Stuart, Florida on July 19, 1977 the son of Harold David & Melody ( Colby ) Luce. He was a retail clerk at Hot Topics at Oakbrook Mall. He resided most of his life in the DeWitt area.

He is survived by his grandmother Milda Luce of DeWitt, MI and his aunt & uncle Wayne & Betty Farmer of DeWitt, MI. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel.
