Alice Louise Casler Alice Louise Casler age 96 of Ovid, Michigan died Monday, October 4, 2004 at Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, Michigan. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Pastor Rob McPherson will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Alice was born in Elsie, Michigan on December 7, 1907 the daughter of George Lewis & Lena ( Jarvis ) Carter. She graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1925. Alice married Clifford Casler on October 19, 1928 in Wauseon, Ohio. He died November 4, 1977. She was a homemaker and Registered Nurse at Clinton Memorial Hospital and Ashley Clinic for many years. Alice was a member at Bannister United Methodist Church, Bannister, Michigan. She was also a member of the Oldest Living Alumni of Sparrow Hospital, School of Nursing, and she played the organ at the Bannister & Carland Churches for many years. Alice resided most of her life in Bannister moving to Ovid in 1976. She is survived by 1 daughter Joanne & Jack Bouck of
Higgins Lake, MI, 1 son Clifford Bud & Willann Casler of Ovid, MI, 4
grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. She is predeceased by
her parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers. Memorials may be made to Bannister & Carland

Chapel. Delbert E. Schafer died
Monday, October 4, 2004 at the age of 70. He was born March 9, 1934 in Lebanon Township,
Michigan, the son of Arnold and Dorothea (Halfman) Schafer. Delbert was a member of St.
Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and served his country honorably in the US
Army. He was a retired farmer and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, hunting and had a unique
ability to make people laugh. Delbert married Agnes Schafer on October 18, 1958. Charles Chuck Hufnagel age 63 of St. Johns, Michigan died Monday, October 4, 2004 at Clinton Memorial Hospital, St. Johns, Michigan. There will be no Funeral Service but there will be visitation on Tuesday, October 5 & Wednesday, October 6, 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel. Chuck was born in Fowler, Michigan on August 2, 1941 the son of Nicholas & Rose ( Simon ) Hufnagel. He graduated from Fowler High School with the class of 1960. Chuck married Marlene Hafner on October 16, 1965 in Fowler, Michigan. He was currently employed at Dana Corp. since 1960. He was a pet lover, enjoyed hunting and fishing. Chuck was a very generous man who was always willing to lend a hand. He resided most of his life in St. Johns, Michigan. Chuck was survived by his wife Marlene Hufnagel of St.

Fowler, MI, Tom & Nancy Hufnagel of Eureka, MI, Jim & Cary Hufnagel of Battle
Creek, MI, and several nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his father.

St. Johns Chapel. Darel James Hebeler, 46 died Sept. 29, 2004. He was born Oct. 13, 1957 in Lansing, MI the son of Richard and Mary Lou (Bastien) Hebeler. Darel graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School in 1975, Lansing Community College receiving his Associates Degree in 1980 and graduated from Michigan State University in 1996 with a B. A. degree. Darel worked at General Motors in Pontiac as a machine tooling estimator, was a licensed building contractor, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a Spartan Booster. He married Melissa Way on March 11, 1995 in Mason, MI. Survivors include his wife Melissa, 4 sons Darik R., Joseph V., Patrik J., and Daron J. Hebeler all of Ovid. Daughter Gabrielle R. & ( Jowa) Wildes of Okinawa, Japan. His mother Mary Lou Hebeler of Ovid and his in laws, Ronald & Patricia Eisenlohr of Mason. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hebeler in 1996. Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, (989-224-4422), St. Johns on Thursday October 7, 2004 with Rev. Kay Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. and Wednesday, 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested for his children. Gianna Esperanza DeLaCruz passed away September 30, 2004 at
the age of 5 months. She was born in Lansing on April 18, 2004, the daughter of Brigida
Kimmel and Jesus DeLaCruz. Bob is survived by his children, Marlin (Pam) Miller of Maple Rapids and Melissa (Rudy) Gauna of DeWitt, six grandchildren, Zach, Taylor and Jessica Miller, Aunistazsa, Rudy Jr. and Lexon Gauna, one brother, Rodney (Judy) Miller of Middleton, two sisters, Linda (George) Sambol of Sault Ste. Marie, Canada and Dana Lambert (Jon Bottum) of Maple Rapids, mother-in-law, Dolly Nordstrom of Jacobsville, MI, brothers-in-law, Tom and Carl Nordstrom of San Francisco, CA, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Miller, Sr. and mother, Florine Miller, brother-in-law, Denny Lambert, Sr. and father-in-law, Gordon Nordstrom. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 4, 2004 at Maple Rapids Congregational Church with Pastors Steve Lang and Jerry Kissling officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 P.M. City Hospice. John V. Voisinet passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at the age of 61. He was born October 30, 1942 in Lansing, the son of Victor and Ethel (Ferrigan) Voisinet. He was a graduate of Resurrection High School, a member of St. Jude and St. Isidore Catholic Churches, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 7237, sang in several church choirs and enjoyed his breakfast clubs and card clubs. He retired from General Motors and loved to work on his farm. John is survived by his wife Ruth, and children, Steve of Orlando, FL, Sue and Jeff Pung of Laingsburg, Sheri and Jon Pleyte of Williamston, Scott and Patty of Grand Blanc, six grandchildren, Amanda, David, Max, Jack, Rachel, and Katie, siblings, Charlotte and Jerry Hengesbach, Vic and Jane Voisinet, Mary and Dick Hengesbach, Jim and Kathy Voisinet, Anna and Bruce Thelen, Theresa and John Stefanick, Reyne and Randy Hannink, Karen and Chuck Fraser, Kathy and James Williams, Nancy and Ray Trevino, step-mother, Grace Voisinet, step-sister, Flo Fitzgerald and Vern Goodrich, in-laws Herbert and Jeanette Keilen. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 4, 2004 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 801 N. Bridge St. DeWitt with Rev. Fr. Dwight Ezop as celebrant. Interment will follow at Wilsey Cemetery. Liz Roberts died September 28, 2004 at the age of 74. She was born in Carson
City, Michigan on January 2, 1930, the daughter of Orville and Margaret (Saurbek) Johnson.
She retired from Fisher Body in 1967, was a member of U.A.W. Local #602 and V.F.W.
Auxiliary #671. Elizabeth married Ira Butch Roberts on November 22, 1951 and
he survives her. Laurence H. Peters age 86 of Elsie, Michigan died Monday, September 27, 2004 at Laurels Nursing Home, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Pastor Merlin Pratt will officiate with burial at Fairfield Township Cemetery, Fairfield Township, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2004 3-7 P.M. Masonic service will be held on Thursday Evening at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Laurence was born in Elsie, Michigan on March 16, 1918 the son of William B. & Edna C. ( Sawyer ) Peters. He graduated from Elsie High School and then attended MSU and received a Bachelors of Science and attended CMU for his Post Graduate Work. Laurence married Mary Ann Morgan on October 15, 1943 in Alabama. She died on June 1, 2000. He was a retired O-E Industrial Arts Teacher. He served in the Army Air Corp Band during WW II, he was part of the MSU Marching Band, and played in the Ed Berry Jazz Band. He enjoyed antiques and coins, painting and artwork. He resided most of his life in Elsie, Michigan and attended Elsie United Methodist Church, Elsie, MI. He was also a member of the American Legion # 502 Elsie, the Masonic Lodge # 69 Elsie, and retired from the Musicians Union. He is survived by 2 sons Larry & Florence Peters of Saginaw, MI, John & Patrice Peters of Elsie, MI, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 step-brother Robert Munson of Saginaw, MI. He is predeceased by his parents, 1 son David, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. Memorials may be made to O-E Community Foundation. The
