Tony E. T.J. Visger, Jr. Tony E. T.J. Visger,
Jr., died Monday, October 18, 2004 at the age of 20. He was born in St. Johns, Michigan on
March 24, 1984, the son of Tony L. and Patricia (Casteel) Visger. Virginia H. McClure passed away Sunday, October 17, 2004 at
the age of 90. She was born July 27, 1914 in Glouster, Surviving is her daughter Shirley (Stan) Pifer of St. Johns, three grandchildren, Ric (Sherry) Pifer of Butternut, Greg Pifer and Kathi Hufnagel both of St. Johns, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Edwin. Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 21,
2004 at theKeck-Coleman
Funeral Home, St. Johns (989/224-4422) with Pastor Edward Schweikert officiating. The
family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral
home. Memorials may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society. Doris E. Phinney died October 17, 2004 at the age of 82.
She was born in Olive Township, Michigan on November 4, 1921, the daughter of Albert and
Pearl (Treadwell) Phinney. Doris received her bachelors degree from Central Michigan
University. She taught school for the Roseville and River Rouge School Districts and was a
member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel. Doris was preceded in
death by her parents, one sister, Leora Phinney, two brothers, Gerald and Arnold Phinney,
sister-in-law, Violet Phinney and longtime friend, Joseph Vargo. Lawrence Clare Dude Wilson, 41, passed away October 17, 2004, after a very lengthy illness. Larry worked with his father at L.L. Wilson and Son, operating heavy equipment. He is survived by his parents, Larry and Janette Wilson, one grandmother, Hazel Wilson, Uncle , Arthur Gates, three Aunts, Ellen Gates, Janet (Dave) Rohbacher, and Mary (Audley) Higbie. He is also survived by many cousins and many, many friends. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday October 20, 2004, at Woodview Church of The Nazerene, with Pastor David Sifferd, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hemophilia Foundation of Michigan. Arrangements by Osgood Funeral Homes. Agnes M. Arthur, Laingsburg, MI Age 78, died October 15, 2004. Born June 18, 1926 in Clinton County to William and Theresa (Wacker) Fox. She married Robert L. Arthur on October 23, 1948. He preceded her in death June 28, 1990. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, Betty (Greg) Pierce, Don (Janet) Arthur, Barbara (Gary) Koonter, Karen (Don) Brown and Ronald (Tammy) Arthur; nine grandchildren, Scott Pierce, Mark Koonter, Jon Arthur, Michelle Yonker, Kim Balcarcel, Stacy Voisinet, Jason Brown, Travis and Tiffany Granger; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Zimmer, Margaret Brya; brothers, Robert and Bernard Fox. One great grandson, Michael Balcarcel, preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be held at St. Isidore Catholic
Church, 11 a.m., Monday, October 18, 2004 with Father Duaine Pamment officiating.
Interment will be at Reed Cemetery. Rosary will be Sunday, October 17, 2004 at 7:00 p.m.
at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Laingsburg. Visitations will be Saturday, October 16,
2004 from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, October 17, 2004, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Executive Drive, Lansing, MI 48911 in her memory. Marilyn Louise Bearup went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 14, 2004 at the age of 70. She passed at Ingham Regional Hospital surrounded by her family and pastor. Marilyn was born October 22, 1933 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the daughter of Allyn and Marian ( Cutler ) Grant. She graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1951. Marilyn married Donald Lewis Bearup on July 3, 1953. God blessed them with 51 happy years. Marilyn was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Surviving are her husband, Don, mother-in-law, Mary Bearup, children; JoEllen (Jeff) Frederick of Fairfield Ohio, and Steve (Connie) Bearup of Harrison, Ohio, grandchildren; Jason and Caleb Bearup, Crystal and Paul Frederick, Shelly Cossman, Stephanie (Beige) Fields, great grandchildren; Jordan Bearup, Kyle Cossman, Brandi Carnes, Breanna and Brady Fields, her aunt, Carrie Braendle, many special brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Bernard Johnson, father-in-law, Lewis Bearup, son, Mike Bearup, brother, Bryce Grant, sister & brother-in-law, Betty (John) Shattuck, sister, Beverly Shartle, brother-in-law, Lyle Acre, sister & brother-in-law, Betty (Oren) Quick, and step brothers, Ernie, George, and Allen Johnson. Marilyn enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, traveling, playing cards, and visiting friends & neighbors. She had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed fish fries and pot lucks with family and friends. Marilyn lived in rural Elsie, Michigan for eight months each year. She attended Eureka Christian Church. In the winter she enjoyed their home in Chiefland, Florida. While in Chiefland she attended First Christian Church of Chiefland. She will be deeply missed by her husband, family, church families, friends, and neighbors. Visitation will be Sunday, October 17 from 5-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes,
Elsie Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at Eureka Christian Church on Monday, October
18 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Bob Ditmer officiating. Burial will be at Collier Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be given to Eureka Christian Church. Alfred L. Mohnke, 90 died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 at Sparrow Hospital. Alfred was born May 27, 1914 in Bengal Twp., the son of Herman & Anna Tiedt Mohnke. He was a farmer, an occupation he enjoyed, and member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. On Sept 21, 1938 he married Doris Rossow in Riley Twp. recently celebrating 66 years of marriage. Survivors include his Wife Doris, Daughter Diane & Frank Hart of St. Johns, Son Doug & Mary Sue Mohnke of Evanston, IL. 5 grandchildren Michelle & Terry Warner, Terry and Brian Hart, Karla and Evan Mohnke 2 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Maggie Warner. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Edwin and Herman Mohnke. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Peter Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeffrey Heimsoth officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
