Joan Clydell Bishop Joan C. Bishop died
November 15, 2004 at the age of 70. Born at Fife Lake, Michigan November 10, 1934 the
daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Quibell) Grein. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran
Church and a sales clerk for Fairway Discount in St. Johns for 20 years. Joan married
Keith Bishop November 19, 1950 and he preceded her in death January 14, 2001. Mary B. Fabus age 84 of
Elsie, Michigan died Friday, November 12, 2004 at her home. Mary was born in Gratiot County, Michigan on March 11, 1920, the daughter of Dominick & Rose (Polakolvic) Surik. She graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1939. She married Andrew S. Fabus on May 4, 1940 at St. Cyrils Catholic Church, Bannister, MI. Andrew died on June 16, 1995. Mary Fabus was a homemaker and was a lifelong resident of the Elsie area. She was a member of St. Cyrils Catholic Church and the Alter Society. She is survived by her 3 daughters; Carole & Fred Nixon of Bannister, MI, Marilyn Kuchar of Elsie, MI, & Andrea & Daniel Clark of St. Johns, MI. 9 grandchildren; Cindy & Paul Bolanowiski of Clio, MI, Jim & Kim Nixon of St. Johns, MI, Sue & Mitch Irish of Webberville, MI, Patty & Chet Atkins of Webberville, MI, Bob & Kelley Nixon of Ovid, MI, Pam & Jason Grieder of Bannister, MI, Tom Kuchar & Brian Kuchar of Elsie, MI & Andrew Clark of St. Johns, MI. 3 step-grandchildren; Amy Clark & Sarah Clark of Lansing, MI and Justin & Bridgette Skiffington of Camp Pendleton, CA. 7 great grandchildren; Cody, Kaliegh, Porscha, Austin, Zachary, Brandon, Kylie & 2 step great grandchildren; Meegan & Logan. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, an infant son, 1 son in law Louis Kuchar, 1 brother; John Surik & 3 sisters; Agnes Pare, Anna Cole, & Rose Easlick. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel. Carlos Reyna, Flint, MI Age 82, was born into eternal life, November 12, 2004. Funeral Service will be held at Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Road, Flint. Visitation at Brown Funeral Home is on Sunday, November 14 from 6-9 p.m., Rosary at 7 p.m.; and Monday, November 15 from 2-4 p.m., with Rosary at 3 p.m., and 6-9 p.m. with Scripture service at 7 p.m. Fr. Cecilio Reyna (son) officiating. The burial mass will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church G-2316 W. Coldwater Rd., Mt. Morris Township, on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. He was born on July 6, 1922 in Benavides, TX. The son of Doroteo Reyna and Concepcion Bazan Reyna of Charlotte, TX. He married Andrea Garza of Sabinas Hidalgo, N.L., Mexico, on September 22, 1957. Mr. Reyna served in the Civilian Conservation Corp in Wyoming. Sergeant Reyna served his country as a heavy machine gunner, in the United States Army during World War II, Company D 333rd Infantry, European Theater. Proud member of the UAW; he retired from Flint Truck & Bus Assembly after 33 years in 1988. He was talented and loved woodworking. In 2003, he was recognized and presented the Domingo Berlanga Veteran's Award, for his military service. He loved life and lived it joyously and deeply, he was a great husband, Dad, and grandfather. He had a wonderful sense of humor that we all loved and adored. Surviving are his wife, Andrea Garza Reyna; 6 children, Carla and Carol (Patrick) of Racine, WI, Carlos Jr. and wife Marlene, Maria Mata and husband Francisco, Andrea Wolf and husband William, Reverend Cecilio C. Reyna of Westphalia, MI; and daughter-in-law, Margarita Ramos Reyna; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Delfina and Reynaldo Reyna of Charlotte, TX, Clemente and Doroteo (Santos) Reyna of Pleasanton, TX, Isabel (Jose) Cumpian of Big Foot, TX. Preceded in death by his son, Cecilito; sister, Zoila (Baldemar) Trevino, Estella (Porfidio) Calvillo, Delores Reyna, and Otila Reyna (sisters-in-law). A special thanks to his neighbors Juan and Juanita Diaz and the Raul Garcia Family, the support of friends and family during this difficult time is appreciated. A many thanks to the nurses and staff's patience and love for him at Kith Haven Nursing Home and Avalon Hospice. Larry Burk died November 11,
2004 at the age of 59. He was born in St. Johns on October 2, 1945, the son of Merlin and
Betty (Matice) Burk. He was a retired General Motors Plant Engineering employee, a member
of U.A.W. Local #652 and National Rifle Association. Larry married Olga (Rositas) Burk in
St. Johns on November 26, 1966 and she survives him. Bobby L. "Bob" Tate, St. Johns, MI After a short struggle, Bobby went home November 5, 2004. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, January 19, 1943 to Robert and Minnie (Maddox) Tate. Bobby moved to Michigan in the early 50's and graduated from Coopersville High School and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1960. Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Liz; step-son, Robert Gleason; former wife, Shirley and their children, Shelly and Steve Shields, Cindy, Robert; grandchildren, Steven, Leslie, Amanda, Robert, Jr., Jasmine; brothers, Mike and Fred Hansen of Grand Rapids; uncle in Los Angeles; and many cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 15, at Noon
at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing. Interment
will follow in Rose Cemetery, Bath. The family will receive friends at the Chapel Sunday
