Jerome T. Martin

Jerome T. Martin,  East Lansing, MI Formerly of Lansing, MI Born March 30, 1917, in Fowler, to Edward and Marie Martin; left this earth on January 22, 2005, to join his wife, Esther. He was a barber in downtown Lansing for 37 1/2 years and a member and officer of the Lansing Barber's Association. Jerome was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a cantor at Resurrection Parish and an avid golfer. He was a craftsman who loved woodworking. He also loved music, both performing and listening to it. It was an art that brought him great joy and comfort, especially in his later years. Jerome was an enthusiastic member of the Lansing Orpheus Male Chorus for 30 years.

A loving, nurturing father and grandfather, he is survived by his daughters, Cecelia (Patrick) Costigan, Margaret (Christopher) Costigan and June Martin, all of Lansing; son, Paul Martin of Mason; grandchildren, Timothy, Thomas (Megan Arbour), Cathleen (Steven Edgerly), Edward "Ted" and Matthew; brother, Gerald (Marcella) Martin of Kalamazoo; and many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 27, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, with the Rev. William J. Koenigsknecht officiating. The Rite of Committal will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a Scripture service being held at 7 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, Capital Area Service Center, 1755 Abbey Rd., East Lansing, MI, 48823, or to the Church of the Resurrection, 1531 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI, 48912, in memory of Mr. Martin.

Eldred M. Rademacher

Eldred M. Rademacher died Friday, January 21, 2005 at the age of 82. He was born in Dallas Township, Michigan on July 25, 1922, the son of William A. and Frances (Halfman) Rademacher. Eldred was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Charter Member and Past Grand Knight of St. Jude Thaddeus K of C Council #2890 and Past Faithful Navigator of Fr. Godez Assembly #1509. He was a retired farmer and Corrections Officer for the State of Michigan and former Buick-Pontiac car salesman. Eldred also served his country in the US Army during WWII. He married Marcella Thelen October 19, 1948.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marcella Rademacher of Westphalia, two daughters, Christine (Walter) Cherluck of Dewitt and Kathryn (Gerald) Schneider of Kennesaw GA, four sons, Keith (Lucy) Rademacher of Richland, Washington, Lee (Ann) Rademacher of Dewitt, Lloyd (Renee) Rademacher of Portland and Greg (Deborah) Rademacher of Clarkston, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Eldred also has four sisters, Antoinette Hafner and Agatha (James) Feldpausch of Fowler, Daria (Mark) Pung of St. Johns and Eugenia (Alban) Arens of Westphalia, one brother, Denis (Mary Lou) Rademacher of St. Johns and two sisters-in-law, Alice Rademacher of Westphalia and Mary Rademacher of St. Johns. Eldred was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Rademacher, one sister, Margaret Schneider and two brothers, Harold and Roderick Rademacher.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 24, 2005 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia, with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be at St. Mary's Chapel on Saturday 2-9 and on Sunday 9-9 with the family present 2-4 and 7-9 both days with rosaries prayed at 3 and 8. Memorials may be made to Fr. Aloysius Miller Education Trust Fund. Arrangements by Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns.
