Helen Hoag Helen L. Hoag passed away Sunday, February 12, 2006 at the age of 92. She was born September 30, 1913 in Williamston, MI the daughter of John and Ethel (Drake) Dexter. She was a graduate of Williamston High School class of 1931 and served as class treasurer. Helen was a member of the First Congregational Church of St. Johns and was active in many church groups such as the Congregators and Vesper. She was a Past Matron of the O.E.S. Radiant Chapter # 79, a member of the D.A.R. and the Huguenot Society. Helen married VanWyck Hoag February 28, 1933 in Lansing and worked with him as co-operator of the Hoag Funeral Home in St. Johns from 1950 to 1973. She was predeceased by her husband; son John; brother, George Dexter; and sister, Elaine Dunckel. Surviving is a son Doug (Marlene) Hoag of Detroit; daughter-in-law, Arlene Hoag of St. Johns; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Friday, February 17, 2006 at the First Congregational Church of St. Johns, 100 Maple Street with Rev. Matthew Olson officiating. Interment will be at 3:00pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Grand Ledge. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday and Thursday at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home St. Johns 989-224-4422. Memorials may be made to First Congregational Church in memory of Helen. The family is being served by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home. Matt Hutton
died February 8, 2006, at the age of 37. Matts body was defeated by Lou
Gehrigs disease but his spirit triumphed as he peacefully and courageously left this
world surrounded by his loving family in the home he built for them. Born in Lansing on
October 18, 1968, the son of John Thomas and Mary Antoinette (Derezinski) Hutton. Matt was
a carpenter and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He married Tamara Sudau in Las
Vegas, NV on August 23, 2002; and she survives him. |
