A. Rann Julie A. Rann, 42, died Tuesday,
June 27, 2006. She was born February 9, 1964. She graduated from St. Johns High School in
1982 and Michigan State University. Julie was a musician, enjoyed music, running and
tennis. Survived by her husband Greg Goudy, daughters, Christina and Stephanie Rann. Step
father and mother, Bill and Barbara Wiseman of St. Johns Sister Diane Rann of Quiny, MA, LaVerna M. Sutfin, 80, died Tuesday June 27, 2006. Celebration of Life 1 p.m. July 8 at the family home in St. Johns. Arrangements by Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns. Helen Allen died June 25, 2006, at the age of 78. Born in Vienna, Austria on May 31, 1928, the daughter of Franz and Maria Regina (Roudler) Schmied. Helen married Bruce L. Allen in Salzburg, Austria on December 15, 1951 and he preceded her in death on November 4, 1998. Surviving is her daughter, Christine (Donald) Ricks of Bath, grandchildren, Todd Gutting of Morrice, Elaine (Philip) Smith of St. Johns and Kimberly (Tom Davis) Gutting of Swartz Creek and great grandchildren Nicholas Smith, Alex Gutting and Jalyn Davis. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Scott Gutting. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Glass River Cemetery in Morrice with Pastor Tom VanDyke officiating. The family will receive friends 4-7 P.M. Wednesday at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Mary Dubay, 89, of St. Johns, MI died Sunday, June 25, 2006. She was born July 31, 1916 in Hamtramck, Michigan the daughter of Vincent and Amelia (Wilke) Dubay. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns and she retired from Federal Mogul in 1985 after 25 years of service. She was godmother to many and was considered Aunt Mary to those close to her. She will be missed by her family. Surviving is a nephew, David Dubay; niece, Sharon Dubay; sister-in-law, Helen Dubay; goddaughter, Donna Jacobsen; and godson, Phillip Trombley. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Julia Dubay and Stephanie Danik and four brothers, Edward, Edmund, Frank, and Walter. Special thanks to the staff of Prestige Pines of DeWitt for providing such wonderful care over the recent years. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns 989-224-4422 with Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Carl Joseph Pfaff Carl was known as the "Voice of the P-W Pirates" for 46 years announcing every home varsity football game in Pewamo-Westphalia Pirate history. He also announced P-W basketball games for several years. Carl served on the St. Mary's Westphalia Home School Council as well as the School Board for P-W High School. He was member of the original P-W athletics booster club, which raised funds for the lights on the original high school football field. Carl was also a member of the Westphalia Parade Committee for the Bi-centennial and a member of the Westphalia Jaycees. He was an avid University of Michigan fan who did not miss a home football game for 31 years; however, one of his greatest passions was following the participation of his children and grandchildren in athletic events. Carl always looked forward to his yearly summer vacation with his family. We will forever miss the presence and love of Carl in our lives, but we will hold his memory forever in our hearts. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Cecilio Reyna at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. both Monday and Tuesday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St.. The rosaries will be recited at 3 and 8 p.m., Monday and 3 p.m., Tuesday. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m., Tuesday. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Frances A. Fox died at her residence on June 20, 2006 at the age of 84. She was born in Ovid Township on October 16, 1921, the daughter of Paul and Anna (Kollar) Vitek and lived most of her life in the St. Johns area. She was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. Frances married Charles C. Fox in St. Johns on June 9, 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2000. Surviving are three daughters, Cynthia (Richard) Fox-Janke of Holly, Priscilla (Gary) Brendahl of Salinas, CA, and Mary Frances Kus of St. Johns; three sons, James (Joan) Fox of St. Johns, Pat (Mary Jo) Fox of Grand Ledge, and Linus (fiancee, Michelle) Fox of Ovid; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" (Norman) Blakely of Elsie, Victoria "Vickie" Sommers of Tucson, AZ, and Peggy (Norman) Shoemaker of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Alex Vitek and John Vitek. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2006 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, burial at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery with the Rev. Fr. Timothy E. MacDonald officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Goerge Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, Fowler, with Rosary being prayed 3 and 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 3 p.m. Sunday and a Vigil 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. 2006, at the age of 73. Born in Shelby, Michigan on July 11, 1932, the son of Earl Frank
and Ruth (Hedges) Beachum. He was the owner of Twin Oaks Golf Course and a member of the
Fraternal Order of Eagles. Earl married Maxine Lambrix in Hart, MI on June 11, 1949 and
she preceded him in death on June 6, 2004. |
