Elwood II age 50 of Ovid, Michigan died Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Corunna Chapel Corunna, MI on
Friday, August 4, 2006 at 1:00 PM. Pastor LaDonna Stewart will officiate with burial at
Newburg Cemetery Shiawassee Township, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday,
August 3, 2006 from 2-8 P.M.
Roy was born in Owosso, Michigan on January 31, 1956 the son of Roy L. and Thelma I. (
Harper ) Elwood I. He resided most of his life in Ovid, Michigan. Roy married Carrie A.
Green on March 18, 2005 in Owosso, Michigan. He worked as a Tin Knocker for Local 7 in
Lansing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and all that the outdoors had to offer. Roy attended
church at Cornerstone Church of God in Owosso.
He is survived by his wife Carrie A. Elwood of Ovid, MI, son Roy L. Elwood III of Corunna,
MI, son Jeremy J. Elwood of Ovid, MI, daughter Tiffany A. Elwood of Owosso, MI, daughter
Colleen B. Green of Ovid, MI, son Justin B. Green of Ovid, MI, daughter Skyler L. Green of
Ovid, MI, 3 grandchildren Alexander and Aundrea Amman, and Dakota Elwood, mother Thelma I.
Elwood of Ovid, MI, sister Teresa Elwood of Rochester Hills, MI, sister Bonnie and John
Gall of Bannister, MI, brother Ricky Elwood of Ovid, MI, brother Randy Elwood of Ovid, MI,
and best friend Mike and Lisa Mead of Elsie, MI. He is predeceased by his father, brother
Rodney Elwood, and his grandparents.

Richard M. Henning
Richard M. Henning, 60 of Ovid, MI. died Wednesday,
August 2, 2006. He was born Nov. 3, 1945 in Clinton County the son of Lawrence M. and
Irene M. Ley Henning. On Jan 8, 1966 he married Karen L. Sutliff in St. Johns, MI. Dick
worked at Federal Mogul and retired in 1986. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a
member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Ovid.
He is survived by his wife Karen; daughter, Kimberly and Chris Mulligan of St. Johns;
sons, Craig and Stephanie Henning of Kendallville, IN, Rex and Caren Henning of
Noblesville, IN and Darcy Henning of Ovid; 6 grandchildren, Tristen, Hannah, Bryce, Bailey
and Breana Henning and Joshua Mulligan; brother, Gale and Donna Henning of St. Johns;
sisters, Bernice and Leonard Mitchell, Joyce and Kenneth Russell and Barbara Rewerts all
of Ovid and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers,
Dale and Gerald and sisters, Beverly Henning and Madonna Lepard.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Ovid on
Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. with Fr. Ray Urbanek officiating. Burial will follow
at Middlebury Cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 P.M. on Friday evening. The family
will receive friends at Keck-Coleman

(Bennett) Parsons
Parsons,
Barbara P. (Bennett) age 83, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother went to
be with the Lord on August 1, 2006. She was born on November 5, 1922 in Grand Rapids,
Michigan to Fredrick H. and Myrtle M. (Barnum) Bennett. Barbara graduated from the St.
Johns Highs School Class of 1942. She married Richard A. (Dick) Parsons on November 28,
1942 and resided in St. Johns. In 1957 moving to Fowler, where she and her husband owned
and operated Fowler Plumbing and Heating. In 1962 Barbara suffered a major stroke changing
her life forever. She will always be remembered for her incredible spirit, her remarkable
courage and ability to persevere in trying circumstances. She was an avid baseball fan of
the Atlanta Braves, member of the Ladies Auxiliary Unit #0153, enjoyed her TV, reading,
traveling with her husband, spending time with her family and the simple things in life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Fredrick A. (Tom) Bennett, husband
Richard A. (Dick) Parsons and grandson Jeffrey L. Parsons.
Surviving are son James R. Parsons Sr. and fiancé Mary Lee Hosford, Ionia, daughter
Marsha J. (James O.) Koenigsknecht, Fowler, brother-in-law R.E. (Virginia) Parsons, Clare,
MI, dear and very best friend Leola (Wilbur) Thurston, St. Johns, 6 grandchildren Richard
J. Koenigsknecht, Naples, Florida, Scott M. (Jennifer) Koenigsknecht, James R. Jr. (Amy)
Parsons, Jean Ann Zuwala, Jackie Kipp, all of Fowler, and Joyce (Duane) Cole, Portland, 14
great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 4, 2006 at the Goerge Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, 11112 W.
Ionia, Fowler, with Rev. Fr. Timothy E. MacDonald officiating. Interment will follow at
Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home. Pall bearers will be grandsons, Richard J.
Koenigsknecht, Scott M. Koenigsknecht and James R. Parsons, Jr. and great grandsons, Jason
Gage, Jordan Gage, Jeff Kipp, Jamison Kipp and Josh Parsons. A heart felt thank you to the
caregivers at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor for their loving care over the years. Those
we love dont go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always
near. Still loved, still missed, still very dear.
John Glowacki
John Glowacki died July 31, 2006, at the age of 81. Born in
Clinton County on June 10, 1925, the son of Albert and Julia (Pietruszka) Glowacki. He was
a retired farmer who owned Mobile T.V. Service and Glowacki Airport. John married Sybil
Smith in St. Johns on October 1, 1955 and she survives him.
Also surviving are his sons, Allen (Donna) Glowacki, Philip (Cindy) Glowacki, all of St.
Johns, Bryan (Shirley) Glowacki of St. Petersberg, FL and Greg Glowacki of St. Johns,
eight grandchildren, Jeff, Jamie, Stephanie, Cassandra, Melissa, Jessica, Amber and
Dustin, sisters, Stella Ostrowski and Esther Bills, and many nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Frank, Michael and Ted, sisters, Carolin
Kazak, Eva Bohil and Mamie Glowacki.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 3, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating. The family
will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Osgood Funeral Home with a rosary
prayed 7 P.M. Wednesday. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to the

Thomas, age 78, GM Fisher Body retiree, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2006 at his home
surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born September 1,
1927 in Rodgersville, PA to Delbert and Mary E. (Hostuttler) Thomas, Chuck married Mary A.
Banks August 17, 1946 in Oswayo, PA.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Mary A.,
his dog, Sassy, sister, Mary (Harold) Morris of PA, brother, Kenneth (Carol) Thomas of PA
and sister, Elizabeth (Donald) King of Weidman; children Terry (Nancy) Thomas of Rixford,
PA, Gregory Thomas of Crystal, Barbara (Gordon) Spitzley of Charlotte, Jeanette (Lonnie)
Abbott of Carson City, Kay (Fred) Riley of Concord, Charles Michael (Karen) Thomas of St.
Johns and Darrell (Melinda) Thomas of Maple Rapids; 21 grandchildren and 20 great
grandchildren. Chuck enjoyed being with his family, hunting, fishing and camping. He was a
retired member of the Maple Rapids Volunteer Fire Department.
A service in celebration of our husband and father will be
held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the Abbott Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 509 E. Main
Street, Maple Rapids with Pastor Steve Lang officiating. Interment will be in Sowle

died July 28, 2006, at the age of 54. Born in Edmore, Michigan on August 26, 1951 the son
of Joe and Viola (LeFever) Simmons. He was a former employee of the Clinton Co.
Maintenance Dept.
Surviving are his children, Joe (Jill), Justin (Missy), and Amber. Four grandchildren,
mother, Vi Simmons, sisters, Darla (Bob) Lewis and Barb (Bob) Kurtz, and brother, Steve,
many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Simmons.

Marian C. (Hicks) Baker Maple
Rapids, MI Marian died July 26, 2006 at the age of 90. Born in Essex Township, Michigan on
April 28, 1916, the daughter of Robert and Anna (Roberts) Hicks. She was a homemaker and
attended the Maple Rapids Congregational Christian Church. Marian married D. Dale Baker in
Clinton County on January 21, 1935 and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1993.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Taylor and Bonnie
(Charles) Henry, all of Maple Rapids; sons, Alan D. (Barbara) Baker of Yorktown, IN, Guy
(Emmajean) Baker of Gaylord, MI, Mitchel Baker of Goldsboro, NC, R.J. (Faye) Baker of
Hohenwald, TN and Jeff (Mary Ann) Baker of Delta Township, MI; 30 grandchildren; 62
great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Stanley (Doris) Hicks of
Bandera, TX; and sisters, Ella Griffin of St. Johns, Anna May Conklin of Owosso and Hazel
Johnson of Maple Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband,
brothers and sisters-in-law, Elston (Alberta and Margaret) Hicks, F.D. (Delight) Hicks,
brother-in-law, Ernest Conklin and grandson, Brett Bramer and nephew, Curtis Hicks.

Ronald D. Fowler
Ronald D. Fowler Westphalia,
MI Age 62. Ron, a loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away after a courageous
battle against interstitial pulmonary fibrous on Wednesday, July 26, 2006. Ron was born
February 21, 1944 the son of Donald and Ruth Fowler. He attended St. Louis High School,
was a graduate of Ferris State University and a Vietnam veteran. Ron spent the majority of
his working life as a manager and a Senior Buyer for General Motors. He enjoyed bowling,
woodworking, golfing, camping, boating and traveling. He was member of St. Joseph Society,
Knights of Columbus #2890, and a lifetime member of the Fowler, Pewamo, Westphalia V.F.W.
Post #3733. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron is survived by his wife of 41 years, Margaret and their
children, Bryan (Patti) Fowler of Mt. Pleasant and Christine Fowler of Westphalia;
brothers, Dan (Paula) Fowler of Kentwood, Gael Fowler of St. Louis, Darryl (Pam) Fowler of
St. Louis; grandchildren, Rachel and Brittany Fowler with special adopted family,
Constance, Katherine, and Chad Klein were also a great source of joy to him.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev.
Cecilio Reyna at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church,
Westphalia. Rite of Committal will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors
will be provided by the V.F.W. Post #3733. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m.,
Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia
St., Westphalia. The Rosaries will be prayed at 8 p.m., Thursday and 3 p.m. Friday. The

Elizabeth was born in St. Johns, Michigan on October 12, 1919 the daughter of Lyman and
Estella ( Grenlund ) Cobb. She resided most of her life in Boston, Norfolk Virginia, San
Francisco and Elsie, Michigan. She graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1938
and from Michigan State College with the class of 1942. Elizabeth married Lawrence Hess on
November 19, 1944 in Elsie, Michigan at the Cobb Farm. He died on January 1, 1992. She
taught school in Sebewaing and Elsie and worked as a substitute in the Ovid-Elsie School
System. Elizabeth was a member of the Elsie United Methodist Church as well as the Womens
Literary Club, Elsie Historical Society, Clinton County Historical Society, Former
Chairman of the Elsie Public Library Board, member of the Clinton County Library Board,
and Former Elsie Village Assesor.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara and Richard Hall of Mason, MI, granddaughter
Carrie and Richard Breslin of Mason, MI, grandson Tim Hess Hall of Mason, MI, great
granddaughter Kallie Elizabeth Breslin of Mason, MI, loving niece Bonny McVeigh of
Davisburg, MI, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband,
and one brother, Andrew Cobb.
