Clara B. Spade

Clara B. Spade, age 67, died Sunday, August 6, 2006. Born October 13, 1938 in Nashville, Michigan, Clara was the daughter of George and Mary (Curtis) Ross. She was a member of Hope Bible Baptist Church and V.F.W. Auxilliary in Perrinton. She married James Spade in Lansing on December 12, 1958 and he survives her.

Also surviving are her children, Georgia (Gary) Sanders of Middleton, George (Kathy) Spade of Perrinton and Gail Stallkamp of St. Louis, 22 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brothers, Glenn Ross and Wayne Ross and sister, Lela Ellis. She was preceded in death by her son, James T. Spade, Jr., two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 10, 2006 at the Hope Bible Baptist Church, 508 S. Maple, Maple Rapids, burial at Eureka Cemetery with Pastor Steve Lang officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to the American Diabetes Association.

William L. Cartwright

cartwright_wm.jpg (4757 bytes)William L. Cartwright died Sunday, August 6, 2006 at the age of 84. He was born September 20, 1921 in Bannister, MI the son of James and Mary (Bishop) Cartwright. He was an Army veteran of WWII, a member of V.F.W. Post # 4113 in St. Johns and a Life Member of American Legion Post # 502 in Elsie. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, was a former member of the Moose Lodge, enjoyed playing and watching baseball, and collected can tabs for the V.F.W. to help children of deceased veterans. He was a farmer and a retired Federal Mogul employee. On May 23, 1942 he married Phyllis Moczarski in Bannister and she survives him.

Also surviving are two daughters, Wanda Hill and fiancé Bill Wilson of Lehigh Acres, FL, Charlotte (John) Jolly of St. Johns; one son, Joseph (Karen) Cartwright of Harrison; nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Schrieber and Mildred Albaugh and two brothers, Francis and Robert.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns 989-224-4422 with Deacon Marvin Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Ford Cemetery with military honors provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Magdalen A. Armbrustmacher

armbrustmaker_madalen.jpg (5121 bytes)Magdalen A. Armbrustmacher died Saturday, August 05, 2006, at the age of 93. She was born in Westphalia Township on February 28, 1913, the daughter of William and Clara (Knoop) Wieber. She was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Christian Womens Association, and the Daughters of Isabella. She married Harold Armbrustmacher on September 23, 1935 and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1992.

Magdalen is survived by her daughter, Janet Whitney of Frankfort, IL and her four sons, Leon (Marie) Armbrustmacher of St. Johns, Dr. Vern (Carolyn) Armbrustmacher of Washington, D.C., Clair (Karen) Armbrustmacher and Bill Armbrustmacher both of St. Johns. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, her 21 great-grandchildren, her four brothers, Arnold Wieber of Pewamo, Eugene Wieber of Fowler, Fr. Donald Wieber of Watervliet, and Gerald (Doris) Wieber of Fowler, and her sister Romilda Pung of Lansing. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Armbrustmacher, her son-in-law Jim Whitney, her brother, Fr. Elmer Wieber, and her three sisters Sr. Bernita Wieber, Irene Thelen and Sr. Esther Wieber.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, Michigan with the Rev. Fr. Timothy E. MacDonald and the Rev. Fr. Donald Wieber concelebrating. Burial will follow immediately at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday and Tuesday 2:00 - 4:00P.M and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Rosaries will be prayed on Monday at 3:00P.M. and 8:00P.M. and Tuesday at 3:00P.M. A vigil service will be held at 8:00P.M. Tuesday. Sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to the Most Holy Trinity Educational Trust Fund. The family is being served by the Osgood Funeral Home.

Kenneth W. Becker

becker_kenneth.jpg (3737 bytes)Kenneth W. Becker died August 2, 2006, at the age of 68. Born in Lafayette Township, Michigan on July 21, 1938, the son of Carl and Marcella (Triebfelner) Becker. He was a General Motors retiree, a veteran of the U.S. Navy in Korea, a member of the Eagles Lodge and Moose Lodge of Harrison and U.A.W. Local #602. Kenneth married Juanita L. Scott in Harrison on August 1, 1997 and she survives him.

Also surviving are his daughters, Lisa Rudy of Wisconsin, Darlene (Raul) Manriguez of Texas, and Leigh Ann (Mark) Whitford of Ashley, step daughter, Sandra Scott of Okemos, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sisters, Aloha Frede of St. Charles, MI and Faye Hegle of Beaverton, MI, brothers-in-law, Larry Behl of Maple Rapids and Harold Behl of Texas, sisters-in-law, Dora Behl of Harrison, Velva Long of Illinois and Sandra Becker of Hilman, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 36 years Elaine Becker, son Kenneth Becker, Jr., sister Erma Temple, brothers Ivan Becker, William Becker and Dale Becker, sisters-in-law Lee Wohlfert and Sally Behl, brothers-in-law Melvin Behl, Herman Behl and David Behl.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 6, 2006 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Pastor Harold DeMott. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Military graveside services provided by St. Johns Honor Guard. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to the American Cancer Society or Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.
