Sarah Mae Stockwell Sarah Mae Stockwell died October 10, 2006 at the age of 90. Born May 10, 1916 in Columbus, Georgia the daughter of Charles and Ella Mae (Akin) Matheson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. Johns. On December 13, 1942, Sarah Mae married Oscar Stockwell and he survives her. Also surviving are two daughters, Mildred (David) Harris of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Bonnie (Gary) Pyles of Phoenix, Arizona, one son, Charles "Chuck" (Shelly) Stockwell of Brighton, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two brothers, Charles (Janie) Matheson, and Fred Matheson, both of Columbus, Georgia. Sarah Mae was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Charyl Stockwell, two brothers, George Matheson and James Matheson and one sister, Zaidee Bryant. Funeral Services will be Friday, October 13, 2006 at 11:00a.m., at the First Baptist Church, St. Johns, burial at Fairview Cemetery, Brighton with Rev. Tim Knauss officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Osgood Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor. Mary A. Michigan died Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor St. Johns, MI. Edna Montague, loving mother, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2006 at the age of 87. Born on June 11, 1919 in Laingsburg to Sylvester and Etie (Gregory) Underhill. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton B. Montague and granddaughter, Sheri Montague. Surviving are her sons, Don, Dave and Gary (Barbara) Montague; grandchildren, Evan (Jennifer), John (Bev), Lori (Brian) Widner, Mark, Stacy (Michael) Chetham, Steven, Jeremy and Carolyn; 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2006 at Grove Bible Church, 6990 E. Price Rd., St. Johns, with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Friday. Mary Watkins passed away Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the age of 84. She was born April 1, 1922 in Mason, Michigan the daughter of Robert and Mary (Clever) Schrader and lived all her life in Mid-Michigan. Mary was a 1940 graduate of Everett High School, a Navy veteran of WWII and retired in 1994 after 16 years of service as a rural mail carrier. She married John (Jack) Watkins in 1950 and in 1965 they became co-owners of Knob Hill Tavern which she still owned. Jack preceded her in death in 1993. Surviving is one son, John T. (Julie) Watkins of DeWitt; one brother Richard Schrader of Florida and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns 989-224-4422. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the charity of donors choice. Frank Roy Ortiz age 75 of Elsie, Michigan died Friday, October 6, 2006 at Sparrow Health Systems in Lansing, Michigan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyrils Catholic Church in Bannister, Michigan on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be on Sunday from 6-8 P.M. and Monday from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 and 5:30 8 P.M. at the Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie chapel. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be prayed Sunday evening at 8:00 P.M. and Parish rosary will be prayed on Monday evening at 5:30 P.M. Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate and burial will be at Ford Cemetery in Gratiot County, Michigan. Frank was born on May 10, 1931 in Ashley, Michigan the son of Narciso and Lusie (Guyton) Ortiz. He married Guadalupe Rother on September 25, 1954 in St. Marys Catholic Cathedral in Lansing; and he resided most of his life in the Ovid and Elsie area. Frank retired from General Motors Fisher Body Plant in Lansing in 1991 after 36 ½ years of service and was a member of St. Cyrils Catholic Church in Bannister, Michigan. He was member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 13449. Frank loved to be outdoors, feeding and watching birds. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Guadalupe Ortiz of Elsie, 5 daughters, Yvonne and Randy Cross of Owosso, Cynthia and Vern Foster of Lansing, Jane and Greg Kellogg of Aransas Pass, TX, Yolanda and Frank Chapko of Bannister, Lydia and Ken Syrba of Grand Rapids, 1 son, Frank Jr. and Cindy Ortiz of Rockford, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 sister, Sarah and Marshall Hernandez of Oklahoma, 1 brother, Fernando and Olga Ortiz of Pinckney, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a granddaughter Jessica Ortiz, 3 sisters, and 4 brothers. Memorials may be made to McRee House in Lansing, MI, or the American Lung Association. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie chapel. Mark K. Willcutt Ovid, MI Mark K. Willcutt, passed away on October 2, 2006 in Lansing. He was born November 15, 1956 in Lansing, son of Clarence W. and Marjorie (Ciucci) Willcutt. Mark is survived by his two sons, Craig and Matt Willcutt; one sister, Vicky Willcutt; one brother, Craig Willcutt; and several nieces and nephews.
