Heather Baker Heather Baker, 35, of
Owosso, died at home October 23, 2006. Heather was born February 4, 1971 in Lansing,
Michigan. She was a former special education teacher for Ovid-Elsie Schools. Heather was a
graduate of Grand Ledge High School, an Associates degree from L.C.C., B.A. degree
from Western and a M.A. degree from M.S.U. Velma M. Coletta passed away Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the age of 89. She was born February 19, 1917 in Boyne City, MI the daughter of Samuel and Nellie (Freeman) LaNore and has lived in St. Johns since 1947. Velma was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a volunteer and aide at St. Joseph Catholic School for many years. She was a member of the St. Johns Camera Club, Clinton County Historical Society, Clinton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and was a member of the former Clinton County Country Club. On November 17, 1941 she married Charles C. Coletta and he preceded her in death earlier this year. She also was preceded in death by one son Edward and one brother and two sisters. Surviving is one son, Richard (Kathryn) Coletta of St. Johns; daughter-in-law, Barbara Coletta of Bradenton, FL, five grandsons, Brant (Karen), Spencer, Richard (Dawn), Jason (Sonya), and James; one great grandson Zane. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Saturday,
October 28, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 Linden St, St. Johns, with Rev. Fr.
Eoin Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday, October
27, 2006 with a Vigil Service at 8:00 pm at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home,

"Kay" Mueller Lansing, MI Age 88, our loving mother and grandmother passed away October 21, 2006 with her children at her side. Born September 12, 1918 in Westphalia, MI the daughter of Joseph and Mary Schafer. Kathryn was a gifted baker and she was known for her homemade pies. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gerhart A. "Gary" Mueller in 2003; sister, Marian; and 3 brothers, Harold, Leon, and Jerome. Surviving are her 3 children, Donald (Claudia) Mueller, Barbara (David) Fox, and Lisa (Kevin) Orleskie; 5 grandsons, Eric, Benjamin and Alex Mueller and Nathan and Bradley Orleskie; sister, Erma Thelen; 2 brothers, Raymond (Betty) and Art (Mildred) Schafer; sister-in-law, Burlene Schafer; brother-in-law, William (Betty) Mueller; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Dee Dee Darling. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 2-4, 6-8 p.m. Monday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Rosary service in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw. Fedewa Westphalia, MI Age 83, passed away on October 19, 2006. She was born on March 15, 1923 in Fowler the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Fink) Theis. Alberta was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westphalia, a member of the Christian Mothers Society and she served as the church Sacristan for 30 years. She worked as a receptionist at Clinton Memorial Hospital for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Josephine; brother-in-law, Alex Vitek; and sisters, Mary (Joseph) Smith and Catherine (John) Van Acker. Surviving are her husband, Leo; brother, Frederick (Marie) Theis of Westphalia; sisters-in-law, Bernita Vitek, Odelia (Gerald) Thelma, Margaret (Clair) Thelma and Sr. Joann Fedewa; brothers-in-law, Msgr. Sylvester and Fr. Matthew Fedewa, James (Mary Ann) Fedewa, Joseph (Janice) Fedewa; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. Sylvester Fedewa and Fr. Matthew Fedewa at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 23, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Michigan died Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Graceland Foster Care Home Holt, MI. Edward P. Mankey St. Johns, MI Age 82, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Sparrow Hospital. He was born March 26, 1924 in Fowler, MI the son of John and Anna (Schrauben) Mankey. Ed graduated from St. Johns High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On January 15, 1946 he married Betty Jorae in St. Johns. The Mankey's owned and operated the Gambles store in St. Johns for many years, retiring in 1982. Ed enjoyed winters in Florida and in his early years enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the V.F.W. He is urvived by his wife, Betty; son, Gary (June) of Lansing; daughters, Janice and Sandra Mankey both of St. Johns and Carol (Thomas) Kaminski of Lansing; 2 granddaughters, Elizabeth and Sarah Mankey; sister, Bernadine (Ron) Henning of Battle Creek; and sisters-in-law, Agatha Mankey of St. Johns and Glenna Mankey of Conway, Arkansas. Preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Bernard and Donald and sister Marcella Feldpausch. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery.
