Shirley M. Clark

clark_shirley.jpg (4100 bytes)Shirley M. Clark age 89 of St. Johns, Michigan died November 27, 2006. She was born June 8, 1917 in Thomasboro, Illinois. She had graduated from Eastern High School with the class of 1936. Shirley lived in Lansing and Perry before retiring to Bradenton, Florida in 1984. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Clark in 2000, daughter Carol Jean, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, a grandson and a granddaughter.

Surviving her are 2 daughters; Patricia and Frank Deemer of DeWitt, MI, Margaret “Peg” and Bill Foreman of Plant City, FL, 1 son Charles “Jim” and Edna Clark of Bradenton, FL., 2 sisters Naomi Mahoney of Marion, IN, and Phyllis Sullivan of Flushing, MI., grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lansing South Church of the Nazarene, 401 W. Holmes Road, Lansing, MI. Family will receive friends for ½ hour prior to the service. Rev. Harold DeMott and Rev. Timothy Cockcroft will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hazel Findlay Country Manor, 1101 S. Scott Road, St. Johns, MI 48879.

Special thanks to the staff of Hazel Findlay Country Manor for their loving care and making the last months for Shirley so special and to Pastor Tim Cockroft of St. Johns Nazarene Church for his many encouraging visits and prayers. Richard William Kingsbury

kingsbury_richard.jpg (3938 bytes)Richard William Kingsbury age 78 of St. Johns, Michigan died on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Sparrow Health Systems in Lansing, Michigan.

Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns, Michigan on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. Rev. O’Ryan Rickard and Mrs. Kathy Leydorf will officiate and visitation will be Monday, November 27, 2006 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.

Richard was born May, 29, 1928 in St. Johns, Michigan the son of Percy and Augusta (Chantler) Kingsbury and he resided most of his life in St. Johns, Michigan. He was a graduate of St. Johns High School with the class of 1946. On April 17, 1954 he married Mary J. Whitlock in St. Johns, Michigan. Richard was the founder and former owner and operator of Kingsbury Masonry in St. Johns, Michigan. He was a member of Lowe United Methodist Church where he served many offices in the church, he served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, and was a lifetime member of Sleepy Hollow Conservation Club, Coached Little League Baseball, he also played a lot of Class A Fast Pitch Softball and Hockey. He also played for a semi-pro football league team in Ionia, Michigan for 2 years. He loved outdoor sports, hunting, fishing, archery shooting, and he was an avid U of M fan.

Survivors include his wife Mary J. Kingsbury of St. Johns, Michigan, 3 sons, Mark and Louella Kingsbury St. Johns, Michigan, Ron and Stephanie Kingsbury of St. Johns, Michigan, David and Heather Kingsbury of St. Johns, Michigan, 8 grandchildren, he was predeceased by his parents, one sister; Elizabeth Phillips, one brother; John Kingsbury.

Memorial may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or Lowe United Methodist Church. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns, Michigan.

Gladys S. Herrle

herrle_gladys.jpg (4707 bytes)Gladys S. Herrle died November 25, 2006, at the age of 76. She was born in Bronx, NY on January 27, 1930, the daughter of Louis and Hedwig (Gronert) Schlehlein. She was a retired Special Education Teacher from the Bloomfield Hills Public Schools and a supporter of the ARC of Oakland County. Gladys married Richard Herrle in Brooklyn, NY on January 26, 1952 and he survives her.

In addition to Richard, Gladys is survived by her three children, Richard Herrle, Jr. of Florida, Donna (Jerry Winans) Herrle of St. Johns, and Robert Herrle of Florida, and her grandchildren, Danielle Herrle of Troy, MI and Hunter Herrle Jordan, of St. Johns. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Tara Marie Herrle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, Valhalla, NY, with burial immediately following, with Rev. Fr. Joseph Martin officiating. The family will receive friends 4 - 6 PM Monday, November 27, 2006 Osgood Funeral Homes, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns, MI, refreshments will be served. A celebration service follows at 6 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton County Special Olympics.

Terrence M. Fleming

flemming_terry.jpg (4855 bytes)Terrence M. Fleming, 71, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2006 in St. Johns with his family by his side. He was born in Merrill, MI on July 19, 1935, graduated from Michigan State University and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Terry studied Theology at Sienna Heights and was ordained as a Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church on May 10, 2003. As Deacon he served the Catholic parishes of St. Jude in DeWitt and St. Joseph in St. Johns. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. Terry married Myra Barber in Merrill on July 13, 1957. He was a loving and devoted husband for 49 years. Terry will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Myra survives him along with their children, Mary and Keith Enneking of Maple Rapids, Denny and DeeAnn Fleming of Ithaca, Elizabeth and Stefano Collela of Corpus Christi, TX, Jill and Dale Nelson of Belding, Fred Fleming and Wendy Moore of St. Johns, Terrilynn and Glenn Voisin of St. Johns. He is also survived by 19 grand children, Sean and Natasha Enneking, Josephine, Thomas and Rebecca Enneking, Denna Fleming,
Carrie and Keith Canfield, Jessica and Zach Corey, Robert Poxson, Rachael and Jason Devroy, Ryanne and Shannon Donahue, Seth and William Nelson, Casey Jo, Tyler and Lucas Fleming, Jacquelynn, Bridget and Catherine Voisin; five great grandchildren, Sheriden, Zander, Mykayla, Mischa and Makenzy; his brothers and sisters, Mary Wilken, Richard and Barbara Fleming, Kathleen and Bill Doyle, Ray Fleming, Bob and Mary Fleming, Alice and Bill Gardner, Martin and Nancy Fleming, Clarence (John) and Bonnie Fleming, Leo and Marilyn Fleming, David and Sharon Fleming, Frank and Pat Fleming; brothers-in-law, Ed Strowias, George Barber, and Mick and Lil Barber and many nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Helen Strowias and Margaret Haspiel; brothers-in-law, Fred Barber, George Haspiel, Don Wilkin and sister-in-law, Dennie Rea.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 Linden St., St. Johns with Msgr. Robert Lunsford, the Rev. Fr. Tom Fleming, the Rev. Fr. Dwight Ezop, the Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy, Pastor and Most Reverend Bishop Carl Mengeling as con-celebrants, with Deacon Bill Sirl assisting. The family will greet relatives and friends at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns 989-224-4422, on Saturday, November 25, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Sunday, November 26, 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home and 6-8 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph School Educational Trust, the Lacks Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church Bannister, MI on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Fr. Wolfgang Streichardt will officiate with burial at Ford Cemetery Elsie, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 23, 2006 from 2-6 and Friday, November 24, 2006 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel., Rosary will be prayed on Friday, November 24, 2006 at 6:00 P.M.

Edward was born in Flint, Michigan on March 15, 1936 the son of Joseph and Rose ( Barta ) Stehlik. He graduated from Elsie High School with the class of 1954. Edward married Roberta Porubsky on April 19, 1958 at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, Bannister, Michigan. He worked for MMPA for 38 ½ years, retiring in 1999. He also farmed and lived his whole life on the family farm. Ed was an usher at church and worked at the dinners. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Edward was a member of St. Cyril Catholic Church, Bannister, MI., Knights of Columbus, and the ZCBJ Lodge # 225 of Bannister, MI.

He is survived by his wife Roberta Stehlik of Bannister, MI, daughter Lisa and John Chapko of St. Johns, MI, 3 sons; David and Kathleen Stehlik of Houghton Lake, MI, Tim and Lisa Stehlik of Owosso, MI, Chris and HyDee Stehlik of Elsie, MI, 9 grandchildren, 2 sisters; Barbara and John Haruska of Ashley, MI, Theresa and Jim Lytle of Ashley, MI, 4 brothers; Jim and Helen Stehlik of Ashley, MI, Joe and Virginia Stehlik of Ashley, MI, Fred and Frances Stehlik of Owosso, MI, Larry and Mary Stehlik of Ithaca, MI, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.

Verena C. Rademacher

Verena C. Rademacher of Westphalia, MI passed away November 21, 2006.  She was born on June 16, 1922, in Dallas Township the daughter of William and Louis M. (Luttig) Smith. Verena married Elmer H. Rademacher on May 26, 1943 in Westphalia. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Verena was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Elmer, in 2005; son, Gary Rademacher; daughter, Beverly Holland; great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Paul; brothers, Aloysius, Isidore and Celestine Smith; and sister Eleanore Simon.

Verena is survived by her sons, Joseph (Laura) Rademacher, John Rademacher, Thomas (Ann) Rademacher and Roy (Laure) Rademacher; daughter, Mary T. (Jim) Morgan; daughter-in-law, Mary Rademacher; son-in-law, Jim (Cindy) Holland; 21 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Lenneman, Marion Thelen, Leona Leik, Loretta Thelen; and brother, Paul (Rita) Smith.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. Sylvester Fedewa at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St. The Rosaries will be prayed at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The family is being by Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home.

Harry Delbert Hunnicutt

Funeral Services will be held at Heritage Baptist Church DeWitt, Michigan on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 2:00 PM. Pastor Shawn Smith will officiate with burial at South Bingham Township Cemetery St. Johns, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2006 from 2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel, St. Johns, MI.

Harry was born in Indiana on October 24, 1930 the son of Delbert and Leah ( Bailey ) Hunnicutt. He moved to DeWitt in 1957 from Indiana. Harry married Louise Kruger on June 16, 1951 in Indiana. He was a former partner of the St. Johns Quick Lube, Hand H Quick Lube and Auto Service in Grand Ledge and owner of Hunnicut Plumbing and Heating Company in DeWitt, MI. He was also a former DeWitt Township Board Member. He loved to go fishing in Canada and to go mushroom hunting. Harry was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, DeWitt, MI and a member of Gideons.

He is survived by his wife Louise Hunnicutt of DeWitt, MI, 2 daughters; Kathy Hunnicutt of Grand Rapids, MI, Harriet and Raymond McNeily of Spring Hill, TN, 4 sons; Fred and Dyan Hunnicutt of Laingsburg, MI, Mark and Sally Hunnicutt of DeWitt, MI, Roger and Valorie Hunnicutt of Bath, Michigan, Paul Hunnicutt of Laingsburg, MI, 18 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Ruth and Alvin Hanselman of Indiana, Phyllis Burkett of Indiana, Olive and Tony Fisher of Indiana, 2 brothers; Forrest Hunnicutt of St. Johns, MI, and David Hunnicutt of Indiana. He is predeceased by his parents, and 3 brothers.
