Patricia A. Chapko With her loving family at her side, Patricia went to be with the Lord December 26, 2006. In faith she served as a religious education teacher for over 30 years at St. Joseph School and was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her love and trust in God carried her through these most difficult last two months of her life and her family will miss her deeply. She is survived by her devoted husband Charles of 46 years along with her daughters Lisa (Richard) Villarreal, Christine (Dwight) Boak and son Charles (Carrie Ann) Chapko, grandchildren Michael Villarreal, Rachel and Matthew Boak and Charles Chapko III all of St. Johns, sister and brother-in-law Angela and Howard Clevenger of Lansing and several brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Frances (Stasa) Patson. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 30, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends 5-8 P.M. Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Osgood Funeral Home with a prayer vigil 7 P.M. Friday. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to the charity of the donors choice. Stephene Staples, 74, died December 26, 2006. Kurt Denver Smith Surviving are: his wife of 15 years, Meagan (Johnson); 3 children, Alex, Emma and Isaac; mother, San Juanita Smith; brothers, Kent (Monica) Smith and Chris (Mary Jo) Smith, both of Owosso and Kevin (Patti) Smith of Salt Lake City, UT; sisters, Consuelo (Phil) Klinkoski and Vanessa (Tom) Skym, both of Owosso. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Liberty Christian Church, 2215 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family of Kurt D. Smith for his children's education Charles G. Stiles Surviving are his children, Mary Sue (Robert) Porter and Bonnie Christensen; 3 grandchildren, Pamela Loeb, Roderick C. (Dana) Porter and Charles George Stiles (Tracey) Christensen; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara Rutt; and several nieces and nephews. Private family services held. Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel Joan Estella Cook, 72, of Pewamo passed on to be with our Lord on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at home with her family by her side. She was a loving person to everyone who knew her, and always had a kind word to say. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo. She was born on May 17, 1934, in Ionia, the daughter of Alton and Lena (Nummer) Perry. On October 3, 1958 she married Howard Mathew Cook. Joan is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, her sister Shirley Loop of Arizona, brother-in-law Al Fuja, granddaughter Terri Lynn Kieffer, and her mother-in-law Wilma "Dolly" Cook and father-in-law Isidore Cook. She is survived by her children, Lena Sue (Walter Jr.) Kieffer of Pewamo, Peggy and Nora Cook both of Lansing, Dan Cook of Pewamo and Mathew (Tina) Cook of Pewamo. Grandchildren, Walter III, Mindy, Kyle and Shane Kieffer, Shannon Cook, and Tracie, Julissa and Michael Cook and 3 great-grandchildren. Sisters; Virginia (Terry) Wood of Ionia, Dede Annis of Mason, and brother Mike (Gwyn) Shippy of Arizona. Sister-in-law Jean Fuja of Durand, many nieces and nephews, cousins and great friends. Mass of Christian Burial take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo with Rev. Charlon O. Mason presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, pewamo. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday at the Westphalia Chapel of Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 N. Westphalia St., Westphalia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the American Heart Association or the Hospice of Lansing. |
