Kurt G. Martin Kurt Gerald Martin, 54, of Aurora, Colorado died Tuesday January 9, 2007 in Denver. Kurt was born in St. Johns on November 18, 1952, the son of Gerald and Geraldine (Rahl) Martin. He attended St. Joseph School and Rodney B. Wilson High School and worked for many years as a long-distance trucker. Kurt is survived by two brothers, Jack (Jean) Martin of Alpena and James (Delphine) Martin of Finley ND; one sister, Joanne Miller of St. Johns; a special aunt, Jean Nuechterlein and her family and a dear friend Sharon, of Denver, CO; one uncle, Richard Rahl of St. Johns; many cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marilyn. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by the Osgood Funeral Home St. Johns. Matilda Egres age 86 of
Ashley, Michigan died Monday January 8, 2007 at Ashley Care Center Ashley, MI. Parmer R. Phillips Estherbelle Nethaway died January 7, 2007 at the age of 83.She was born April 22, 1923 in Lansing, the daughter of Rolin and Leah (Faunce) Selfridge. She married Wells Nethaway on December 20, 1939 in Corunna and he survives her. Also surviving are son, Ronald (Suzanne) Nethaway and daughter, Carolyn Baker, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, two brothers and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Larry Nethaway, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the Houghton Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, with Pastor Kathy Murphy officiating, burial at Fairfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday 6:00 P.M. - 8:00P.M. and Wednesday 2:00P.M.-4:00P.M. and 6:00P.M-8:00P.M. Symathy may be expressed in the form of memorial contributions in her memory to the charity of the donor's choice. Janet Hasselbach, age 69, died January 5, 2007; born December 22, 1937 in St. Johns, Michigan to Fredrick and Beulah (Ley) Bandt. She was a member of ladies auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post #671, the M.B.C.A.; a group that visits Veteran Hospitals, and a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. In 1955 she married Richard Hasselbach and had five children, Debra (Jerry) Ripley, Judy Foreman, David (Denise) Hasselbach, Diane Argumedo, and Dan (Juanita) Hasselbach, who all survive. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, mother, Beulah (Bernard) Neller; Martha Bandt, and brother, Jim Bandt. She was preceded in death by her father Fredrick Bandt and brother, Vernon Bowen. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 10, 12:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt with the Rev. Dwight M. Ezop of St. Jude Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt. The family will receive friends at the chapel Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the Capital Area Humane Society in memory of Mrs. Hasselbach. Leon Bruce Vincent, age 66, went to be with his Lord on January 6, 2007. He was born December 20, 1940 in Ovid, MI, the son of Ashley J. and Vera Mae (Varco) Vincent. Leon was a loving husband to Mary whom he married October 19, 1963 in Ovid and she survives him. He was a welder for Maurell Products in Owosso for 23 years. Leon is also survived by his daughters, Leeann (Kevin) Mitchell of Owosso, Janet (partner and Leon's special caregiver Steven Howell) Vincent of Owosso, and Teresa (Dan) Windsor of Holt, his grandchildren, Aaron, Marie and Zachary Gardner, and Matthew, Chelsea, Cheyenne and Samuel Windsor, his step-granddaughter Amanda Mitchell, his step-great grandson Dominic Paeth, his brothers, Leroy Vincent and Richard (Wanda) Vincent, his sisters, Margaret (Harold) Morence and Joyce (Don) Babcock, his sister-in-law May Vincent, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Lynnwood Vincent, and three nieces. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Houghton Chapel of the Osgood Funeral Homes, 232 E. Oak St., Ovid, Michigan, with Reverend David Hudgens officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, beginning at 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to the family. Willard V. Hudson, 79, retired tool and die maker, died Saturday December 30, 2006. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
