Marie E. Kindel Marie
E. Kindel, DeWitt, a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother was born March 6,
1922 in Pompeii, MI; went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 21, 2007 at the age of 85.
Marie loved music and enjoyed playing piano, guitar and accordion. She was a member of
Woodview Church of the Nazarene. Marie was preceded in death by her daughter, Pauline; and
brothers, Earl, Ralph and Ollie Slagell.
Surviving are Leslie, her loving husband of 67 years;
daughter, Pat Newcombe of DeWitt; son, Ron (Debbie) Kindel of Eagle; grandchildren, Gary,
Troy (Jill) and Rick Newcombe and Ben and Alex Kindel; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and
Jameson Newcombe; brother, Harold Slagell; sisters, Dorothy Whitford and Viola Bontrager;
and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 11 a.m. at
Woodview Church of the Nazarene, 1500 E. State Rd., Lansing, with the Rev. Rich Whitman,
Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. The
family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington St.,
DeWitt, on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and at the church on Friday one hour prior to the
service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Woodview Church of the Nazarene in
memory of Marie.
Regina Frechen
Regina Frechen died Thursday May 17, 2007. She was born on June 5, 1911, the daughter of
Joseph and Elizabeth (Schneider) Armbrustmacher in Fowler, Michgian. Regina married Carl
Frechen on February 15, 1934. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1974.
Regina is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Frechen and two sons, Paul and Stephen
Frechen. Also surviving are her grandchildren Landon Frechen and Regina Wilson and great
grandchildren, Alyssa, Christian, Brittany Frechen, Jordan Frechen and Jonathon Angell.
Along with her husband, Regina was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.
Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday May 22, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church
in St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends 9:00 -
10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the Osgood Funeral Home at 104 East Cass St., St. Johns. Sympathies
may be expressed in the form of memorial contributions to the Knights of Columbus.

Marie Ann Dinstbier age
79 of St. Johns, Michigan died Friday, May 18, 2007 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel Elsie, MI on
Monday, May 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Mr. Thomas Bradley will officiate with burial at Ford
Cemetery Gratiot County, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2007 from
2-8 P.M. with family present 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
Marie was born in Ashley, Michigan on March 26, 1928 the daughter of Frank and Mary ( Pelc
) Stehlik. She resided most of her life in the St. Johns area. She graduated from Alma
High School and then she attended Acme Business School for 2 years. Marie married Edward
Dinstbier on July 24, 1965 in East Lansing, Michigan. She had formerly worked at MSU in
the Animal Husbandry Department. She loved quilting, crocheting, family dinners, and her
garden.
She is survived by her husband Edward Dinstbier of St. Johns, MI, one son Steve and Amy
Dinstbier of Grand Ledge, MI, 4 step-children; Paul and Jan Dinstbier of O'Fallon, IL,
Sandra and Jerry Weismiller of Laingsburg, MI, Elaine and Rod Stocking of Perry, MI, Lissa
and Steve Rutledge of Laingsburg, MI, 9 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren, 4
sisters; Mildred Stehlik of Alma, MI, Betty and Ron Hagaman of East Lansing, MI, Alice
Stehlik of Lansing, MI, Joan and David Nothstine of Westland, MI, 2 brothers; George and
Sherril Stehlik of Bolder, CO, Robert and Loretta Stehlik of NewPort Beach, CA, and many
nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. The family is being served by Smith
Family Funeral Homes, Elsie Chapel.
Raymond C. Pope
Raymond C. Pope passed away May 16, 2007 at Hazel Findlay Country Manor. Born January 11,
1911 to Dow and Cassie (Jury) Pope in St. Johns. Raymond was a full-time farmer and always
had a second job. He was retired from Motor Wheel in Lansing in 1972. Raymond was a Fowler
Eagle, class of 1929, where he played basketball. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic
Lodge. In 1934 he married Irene Georgia, their marriage of 69 years ended with her death
in 2003.
He is survived by three sons, Raymond G. Pope, Russell Pope (friend Janet Taylor), all of
St. Johns, and James (Gail) Pope of Flint, six grandchildren, Ross (Patti), Mark Pope, all
of St. Johns, Julie (Tom) Manzagol of Dexter, Theresa Benson of New Jersey, David
(Heather) Pope of DeWitt, and Troy (Cheryl) Pope of New Lothrop. He is also survived by 13
great grandchildren, Aidan, Megan, Jack, Henry and Caroline Pope of St. Johns, Mitchell
and Tate Manzagol of Dexter, Jacob and Luke Pope of DeWitt, Logan and Blake Benson of New
Jersey, Cameron and Sydney Pope of New Lothrop, sisters-in-law, Florence Pope and Marie
Prowant, all of St. Johns. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Irene, brothers,
Karl Pope and Lyle Jury Pope, sister, Maybelle Garrett, son, Lyle Raymond Pope,
daughters-in-law, Sally Pope and Donna Rae Pope.
There will be no funeral service. Visitation will take place Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Osgood Funeral
Home from 6-8 P.M. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to the
American Red Cross or the American Cancer Society.
