Hazel M. Wilson

wilson_hazel.jpg (4152 bytes)Hazel M. Wilson died July 23, 2007, at the age of 85. She was born in Millbrook, Michigan on October 22, 1921, the daughter of Glenn and Mary (Cummings) Olger. Hazel married Lawrence Wilson in St. Johns on February 8, 1940 and he preceded her in death.

Surviving is her son, Larry (Janette) Wilson of DeWitt, daughters, Mary Sue (Audley) Higbie of DeWitt and Janet (Dave) Rohrbacher of Fife Lake, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, sister, Beverly (Alfred) Harris, brothers, Glenn (Bonnie) Olger, Ralph (Charlene) Olger and Richard (Barbara) Olger, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Larry Wilson in 2004 and brothers, Otto, William, L.G. and George Olger.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the Osgood Funeral Home, 104 E. Cass St., St. Johns, burial at Blanchard Cemetery with Rev. Tad Jameson officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Wayne T. Banner

Wayne T. Banner, born February 23, 1926, in Perry; passed away June 27, 2007, in Ovid Healthcare Center, Ovid, MI. Wayne lived in Lansing until moving to Ovid. He was a meat cutter, owning his own market in Lansing for several years. His last job was working in the meat department at Gormans Market in Lansing. He loved gardening and fishing. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lucille; daughter, Carol Sue Klimex; parents, Charles and Mildred; and brothers, Charles and Edwin.

Surviving are his sister, Erma Gregory; son, Wayne (Joan); grandchildren, Scott (Janet) Banner, Pam (Jim) Mrazek, Rick (Bob) Banner, Ruth (Mark) Wilner, and Carrie (Bill) Barrix; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

Memorial services 2 p.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery Chapel, Lansing. . In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ovid Healthcare Center. Arrangements by Gorsline-Runciman, DeWitt.

Maurice L. "Moe" Clark

clark_moe.jpg (4337 bytes)Maurice L. "Moe" Clark, DeWitt, born August 20, 1943 in St. Johns; died July 17, 2007, at the age of 63. Moe was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Nora (Ribby) Clark, and sister, Thelma Whitaker. Moe served proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1964, where he served on the USS Hank. He was employed as a driver for Kent Cleaners for 33 years and recently moved to Maurer's Cleaners. Moe was a devoted and loving grandfather to his cherished grandchildren and could often be seen on long walks or playing soft games of hoops with them. He will be missed by all those he met out on his routes.

Surviving are his children, Michael (Deanna), Steven, Jeffrey (Stefanie), Timothy (Jennifer) all of mid-Michigan, and Darci of Denver. He will be deeply missed by his 8 loving grandchildren and 2 grand-doggies. Other surviving family members include an uncle, Howard Soltow; sisters, Polly Reddish and Irma Clark; and brother, Lynford (Julie) Clark.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21, at noon at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington St., DeWitt.
