Nicole Danielle Boron

boron_nichole.jpg (4231 bytes)Nicole Danielle Boron, 28 died Monday, October 1, 2007 at Sparrow Hospital following a stroke. She was born Sept. 8, 1979 in Redford Twp. MI the
daughter of Daniel and Vicky Murphy. Nicole graduated from St. Johns High School in 1997 and on May 7, 2005 she married Bradley Boron in Lansing.
Nicole was a homemaker, farmer’s wife, enjoyed her horses and above all, her family.

She is survived by her husband, Brad; sons, Dylan and Devin; parents, Daniel and Fran Murphy of Canton, MI and Vicky and Mark Cockrum of St. Johns; grandparents, Jackie and Jim Bratton of Hart, MI; half sister, Madline Murphy of Canton, MI and half brother, Rayford Wilson of Arizona; step- brother Mark Cockrum Jr. of St. Johns and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at 11:00 A. M. with Pastor Kathy Leydorf officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home, Thursday and Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.

Caroline Marjorie Rockey

rockey_caroline.jpg (4013 bytes)Caroline Marjorie Rockey,  age 76, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Monday, October 1, 2007. She was born on February 24, 1931 in Westphalia, Michigan the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Schafer) Smith. Caroline was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the V.F.W. Post 4090 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and with her family. Caroline is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence, Robert, Ambrose, Joseph and Charles; sister, Roberta Weber; and special mother-in-law, Elizabeth Rockey.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Leo; children, Carol (William) Mitchell, Karen (Tom) Graft, Bob (Bonnie) Rockey, Ann (Junior) Miller, Dan (Jessica) Rockey, Barb (Steve) Wilcox, Kathy Rockey and Lisa (Chad) Barker; 27 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and brother, Simon (Revella) Smith.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Larry King at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. The rosary will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 3 p.m. Wednesday. A Scriptural Wake Service will be prayed at 8 p.m., Wednesday.

Leila B. Moore

Leila B. Moore died October 1, 2007, at the age of 82. She was born in Fairfield Township on August 18, 1925, the daughter of Horace and Hazel (Lepior) Mead. Leila married John Moore in Ovid on February 24, 1945 and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1974.

Surviving is her daughter, Marilyn (John) Bernath of Elsie, grandsons, Bruce (Monique) Bernath of Ovid and Ryan (Amy) Rademacher of Fremont, granddaughters, Kim (Jerry) Kimball of Lansing and Betsy (Ryan) Harris of Saline, brothers, Donald (Alberta) Mead of Ovid and Gale (Lee) Mead of DeWitt. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jan Rademacher.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Pastor Bob Prange officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to the charity of the family’s choice.

Ruth Wesner

wesner_ruth.jpg (3263 bytes)Ruth F. Wesner, 88 went to be with her Lord on October 1, 2007 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on Aug. 14, 1919 in Chapin, MI, the daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Freed) Rumsey. Nearly a year later she moved to Maple Rapids, MI. Ruth graduated from Maple Rapids High School and from Central Michigan University with a B.S. degree and a teacher’s certificate. Later she received a Master’s Degree from Michigan State University in Special Education. Her first teaching assignment after college was at Essex Center School where she taught for 4 years at a rural elementary school. She taught for the Laingsburg School system, and later was a consultant for the Clinton County Intermediate School District for several years.
Ruth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in St. Johns, MI and The North Congregational Church in Columbus, Ohio. She was also a member of the Clinton County Historical Society, and the Retired Teachers Association.  Ruth cherished her family and friends. She had a true love of God and lived her faith. She touched many lives and will be missed dearly.

In 1940 she married Leslie O. Wesner. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1994. Ruth moved to Columbus in 1993 after living in St. Johns for 28 years.
Survived by Daughter, Sallie and Karl Danneberger of Dublin, Ohio; daughter in law, Rose Wesner of St. Johns; 5 Grandchildren; Marty and Melissa Wesner, Michael and Buffy Wesner, Troy and Breanna Wesner all of St. Johns, Marc Danneberger and Kyle Danneberger of Dublin, Ohio; Great grandchildren, Zander, Mariah, Olin and Gracie Wesner; brothers and sisters. Eulah Blemaster, Donna (Max) Laudenbeck, Loren (Ruth) Rumsey, Mary (Don) Andrews, Nancy (Richard) Andrews and Nelson Rumsey and sister in law, Betty Hicks.  She was preceded in death by her parents, son James O. Wesner in 1990.

Funeral services will be held at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, 989-224-4422, in St. Johns, MI on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2207 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Gary Bird officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
Memorials may be given toThe Paine Gilliam Scott Museum, St. Johns, MI 48879, The American Heart Assn. or North Congregational Church in Columbus, Ohio. Memorial services in Columbus, Ohio will be held on October 13, 2007, 10:00 A.M. at North Congregational Church, 2040 West Henderson Rd., Columbus, Ohio with Rev. Eric Williams officiating.   The family is being served by the Keck-Coleman Funeral Home.
