Florence E. Halfmann Florence E. Halfmann, 94 died Tuesday, December 04, 2007 at Hazel Findlay County Manor. Florence was born June 17, 1913 in Pewamo, MI the daughter of Frank and Dora (Werner) Smith. On June 12, 1934 she married Martin Halfmann in Pewamo. He died Sept. 25, 1986. Florence was a homemaker, member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She is survived by a son, Elvan Halfmann of Westphalia; daughters, Marilyn (James) Smith of Westphalia, Doris (Donald) Goerge of Fowler, Eileen (James) Murphy of Shamong, N.J. and Janet (Clare) Thelen of Fowler; 23 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren and 2 step- greatgreatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Reynold, Roman, Albert and Carl Smith 2 sisters, Julia Simon and Dorothy Wieber, daughter-in-law, Rita Halfmann 3 grandchildren, Carolyn, Marilyn and Donald Goerge and great-grandchild Everett Thelen. The Mass of Christian Burial will he held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Westphalia on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. with Fr. Cecilio Reyna officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. Rosary services will be at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, and 3:00 P.M. Thursday. A scripture service will be prayed on Thursday evening at 8:00 P.M. The family will receive friends at St. Mary Chapel on Wednesday, 7-9 P.M. and on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Memorials may be given for family wishes. died at home surrounded by his family on December 3, 2007, at the age of 79. He was born
in Bengal Township on June 17, 1928, the son of Edward and Lillian (Sutton) Fink. He was a
Federal Mogul retiree, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic
Church and American Legion Post #0008 (Winterhaven, FL) and enjoyed spending summers at
his cottage at Crystal Lake and winters in Haines City, FL. Ivan married Patricia Hafner
in Fowler on December 27, 1951 and she survives him. Lucile M. Phelps died Monday, December 3, 2007 at the age of 72. She was born February 9, 1935 in Gratiot County, Michigan the daughter of Arlie and Leona (Hoffer) Peck and has lived in the St. Johns area most all her life. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in St. Johns as a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the Senior Saints group. Lucile was a nurses aide at Clinton Memorial Hospital in St. Johns for many years. On August 3, 1957 she married Richard Phelps and he preceded her in death in March of 1998. She also was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, R.G. and Gordon Peck. Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Cressman and Connie Phelps both of St. Johns; one son, Eric Phelps of Harrison; two grandsons, Trevor and Nicholas Cressman; three sisters, Doris Wilkie of St. Johns, Florence (Jerry) Boulis and Betty Muscott all of Ashley; two brothers, Richard (Linda) Peck of Chesaning and Lloyd (Kathy) Peck Sr. of Elsie and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am
Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at First Baptist Church, 512 S. US 27, St. Johns with Pastor
Tim Knaus officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive
relatives and friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at Keck-Coleman
Funeral Home, St. Johns 989-224-4422. Memorials may be made to Clinton Memorial
