Harold Scott

scott_harold.jpg (4440 bytes)Harold E. Scott, age 74, died November 20, 2008. Born in Chuckey, TN, the son of Milton and Sophia (Pascus) Scott. He was a telephone construction supervisor and a member of the I.B.E.W. Harold married Marie Bushamp on August 5, 1963 in Grand Ledge and she survives him.

Also surviving is daughter, Bambi Romero, sons, Greg Scott, Keith Scott, Kevin (Trina) Scott, Kip (Kim) Scott, granddaughters, Alex Gatica, Jill Romero, Jamie Romero, Abigail Scott, Ava Scott, Kennedy Scott and Katie Scott, grandsons, Christopher Scott, Lucas Scott, A.J. Gatica and Parker Scott, great grandchild, Christopher Romero, sisters, Shirley Bartlett, Edna Scott, Sandy Delbou, brothers, Marvin, Jerry and Larry. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Violet Booher, Pearl Scott, brothers, Junior Scott, Earl Scott, Ronald Scott and Perry Scott and his life long friend, his dog, Jake.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the United Church of Ovid, 131 W. Front St., Ovid, Michigan, with Pastor Greg Buchner officiating. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of contributions to the charity of the family’s choice. The family is being served by the Houghton Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes.

Roger S. Rademacher

He was born on February 8, 1936 in Westphalia the son of Simon and Rose (Fandel) Rademacher. He was member of St. Mary's Church and the K of C Council #2890. Roger is retired from Consumers Energy after 32 years of service. He enjoyed playing euchre and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Roger Jr. and Jeffrey and 3 sisters.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Alicia; children Michelle Lee (Tong) Li of Haslett, Diana (Mark) Pung of Portland, Scott (Carol) Rademacher of St. Johns, and Mark (Denise) Rademacher of Florida; grandchildren Rachel, Erica, Dillon, Derek, Emily, Nicole, Jenna, Anna and Michah; great grandson, Nathaniel; brothers Ted (Bonnie) Rademacher and Donald (Phyllis) Rademacher; sisters Esther (Gene) Brown, Joan (Paul) Schaefer, and Virginia Simon; many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Cecilio Reyna at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, Westphalia. The rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m., Saturday and 3 p.m., Sunday. The Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m., Sunday. Arrangements are entrusted to Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.

Phyllis Mae Francis

Phyllis Mae Francis passed away November 13, 2008 at Lenoir Woods in Columbia, Missouri following a short illness. Phyllis was born February 28, 1927 at the family farm in Ovid, Michigan to Thelma Laureatte (Loy) and James C. Warren. On November 22, 1950, she married William H. Francis who preceded her in death on July 7, 1988. They moved to Fremont in 1955 where Phyllis first worked at Gerber Products Company, then at Gerber Memorial Hospital before starting her career with Reber and Reber Law Office until her retirement in 1988 and eventually moved to Mohave Valley, Arizona where she lived until moving to Columbia, Missouri in 2002.

For many years Phyllis prepared taxes for families, farms and small business around the Fremont area. She was self-taught in probate court work and specialized in probate work while at Reber & Reber. Phyllis had been active in the Fremont chapter of The Order of the Eastern Star and she was past Worthy Matron. She enjoyed hosting friends and relatives at her desert home in Arizona and was fond of showing them the sights of nearby Las Vegas.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Timothy (Belinda) Francis of Morgan City, Louisiana; Cynthia (Douglas) Bowman of Muskegon; Rebecca Francis of Columbia, Missouri; Richard Francis of Fremont; Chris (Dana) Francis of Lowell; eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, her brother, Bruce (Mona) Warren of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; her sister, Mildred Lucelia Reynnells of Toronto, Ontario Canada; sister-in-law, Mary Warren of Owosso Michigan; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Ken and Dorothy Stewart of Corunna, Michigan; Ed and Donna Kviz of New Lothrop, Michigan; her aunt, Margie Warner of Detroit Michigan; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter Charlotte Francis, her sister Norma Jean, her brother Loy Warren, her sister Mary Ellen Roney, three brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law and a nephew.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 11am at the Fremont United Methodist Church with a time of visitation from 10:30 until the time of the services with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Phyllis' memory to LSS at Lenoir Woods, 3300 New Haven Road, Columbia, MO 65201.
