Ivah Kleuckling

kleukling_ivah.jpg (3531 bytes)Ivah Kleuckling died Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the age of 94. She was born April 25, 1914 in Riley Township, Clinton County, Michigan the daughter of Christian and Anna (Rossow) Martens and lived most of her life in Riley Township. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aide and Farm Bureau and she enjoyed making quilts. On May 12, 1937 she married Erwin Kleuckling and he preceded her in death June 9, 1993. She was also predeceased by a brother Norman Martens.

Surviving is one son Gaylord (Eileen) Kleuckling of Haslett; one daughter Phyllis (Thomas) VanLake of Wacousta; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; one sister, Lona Silm and one sister-in-law, Arlene Martens.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at St. Peter Lutheran Church 8990  Church Rd. St. Johns with Pastor Jeffrey Heimsoth officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 30 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns 989-224-4422. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Great Lakes Home Health and Hospice 900 Cooper St. Jackson, MI 49202. Ivah’s family extends a special thank you to Bonnie Vance, Tia Moore and Great Lakes Home Health and Hospice for providing such wonderful care to Ivah.

Wilmer Allen Barber III

barber_wilmer.jpg (4055 bytes)Wilmer Allen Barber III went to heaven Saturday, December 27, 2008, at the age of 20 . He was born in St. Johns on August 4, 1988, the son of Wilmer A. II and Kitti (Keeler) Barber. He was a graduate of St. Johns High School. He loved his family, friends and he had a passion for his music.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Heather Barber, grandparents, Jan Keeler, Martin (Carol) Keeler and Wilmer Barber Sr. and special friends, The Darts. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wanda Barber and uncle, Arthur Barber.

His friends and family will receive guests on Tuesday, December 30 from 11-1 p.m. at the Osgood Funeral Home 104 E. Cass St. St. Johns, Michigan. A Funeral Service will follow at 1 p.m with Rev. Dave Leisman officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the family’s choice. Arrangements by the Osgood Funeral Home.

Norene L. Foote

Norene L. Foote, age 82, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, her home away from home. Born in Grand Rapids on February 5, 1926, the daughter of John and Hattie (Grundal) VanderBand, Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church and Farm Bureau. Norene married J. Lionel Foote on April 26, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1999.

Surviving are two daughters, Jean Tennis of Okemos and Carolyn (Lynn) Coffman of St. Johns, one son, Keith (Debbie) Foote, of St. Johns, grandchildren, Kelly (Jean Fiemster) Coffman of Lansing, Paula (Matt) Wilcox, of Okemos, Kendra Coffman, Rebecca (Dustin) Daman, Emily Foote, Tammy Bushard, and Mindy Bushard, great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Andrew and Morgan Wilcox, and Jack Daman, with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Shirley Danveld, Mary Cartright, and Frances Foote and brothers John VanderBand and Leon VanderBand.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Osgood Funeral Home with Pastor Don Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, December 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor in St. Johns.
