Blue Angels, Mother Nature provide spectacular show on Grand Traverse Bay

Watching the renowned Blue Angels soar above Grand Traverse Bay while basking in sunshine aboard a boat on the bay – not a bad way to kick off the start of the July Fourth holiday. Although July 2 was only a practice session for the precision air team, crowds of people who were in town for the start of the annual Traverse City Cherry Festival lined the beaches to watch the test run. Being aboard a boat may be the best way to view the show – at least Captain Wayne thinks so.

A beautiful moon-rise over Grand Traverse Bay on both Thursday and Friday nights – courtesy of Mother Nature - provided an even more spectacular show than that offered by the Blue Angels.
