St. Johns High School - Class of 1895 Enlisted in the regular army for three years. Was at Montauk Point and later went to the Philippines.


Ernest R. Bowker 25 years old

Died; July 24, 1898 @ Aboard the steamship Ohio of typhoid fever, enrobe to the Philippine Islands. Buried: At sea. Latitude 20.06 north and longitude 141.05 east.

Son of Albert Bowker of Olive.


Albert Severence, Gunnisonville

Albert Severence, of Co. I, 2d. United States Infantry died at Gunnisonville, 1896 of malarial fever contacted at the front. He was home on thirty days leave after taking an active part in the capture of Santiago.

Son of Benjamin S. Severence of Bath. Sisters, Mrs. Wm. Gregory of Bath, Mrs. Samuel Bell of lonia and Mrs. Samuel Smith of Gunnisonville.
