Eugene Martin, age 81, died Friday, November 20, 2009.

Vickie Lee Frayer

Vickie Lee Frayer, age 52, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009. Vickie was born in Lansing, Michigan on October 19, 1957, the daughter of Wesley and Rita (Fletcher). She graduated from St. Johns High School in 1975 and was employed at the MESSA for over 32 years.

Vickie is survived by her mother, Rita Frayer of St. Johns, and her brother, Barton (Nancy) Frayer of Lansing and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Vickie also leaves behind her special friends, Sally and Howard Williams. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Bill.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:30 P.M. Monday, November 23, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery also in St. Johns, with Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends 2-5 P.M. Sunday and 12:30- 1:30 PM Monday prior to the Mass at the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns with a Vigil Service at 4:00 PM. on Sunday. Elsie V. Fredrickson

Elsie V. Fredrickson age 97, died November 18, 2009. Born March 19, 1912 in Proctor, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl and Sarah (Borg) Peterson. She was a 1930 graduate of Denfeld High School. Elsie married Carl Fredrickson in Duluth on September 3, 1938 and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2008. She had been a top salesperson at J. C. Penney before her marriage and continued to work until her first child was born in 1941. Carl’s job took them to North Carolina in 1967 and they returned to Duluth in 1976. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity since 1951 where she was a member of its Rebecca Circle and had sung in the church choir. She was also a member of the XYZ’s at Holy Trinity, the Merritt Garden Club and was a former active member of the Merritt PTA. She also volunteered at St. Mary’s Medical Center in the Flower Dept. for 22 years. Elsie and Carl moved to St. Johns in 2001 and live in Clinton Commons. Elsie then moved in with her daughter, Carol.

Surviving are her son, James (Linda) Fredrickson of Austin, Texas, daughter, Carol (Lloyd) Schautz of St. Johns, three grandchildren, Kate Fredrickson of CA, Lori Robertson of Perry, Michigan, Michael (Mayuri) Hogan of Eagle, Michigan and six great grandchildren, Bryce Robertson, Jordan Robertson, Chelsea Fenner, Zach Fenner, Alyssa Hogan and Nicholas Hogan and her sister, Lois Bodin of MN. Also preceding her in death are her parents, two brothers, Rudy and Willard Peterson and one sister, Marie Krause.

Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Osgood Funeral Home burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Pastor John Pohl officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Sunday evening also at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her memory to Greenbush United Methodist Church. Elizabeth Rowell

Elizabeth M. Rowell was born on March 3, 1913, in Windber, PA, and died November 18, 2009, in St. Johns, MI. She was the daughter of Victor Sr. and Alice Torok. She married Fred Rowell on June 10, 1933, and they lived near Fowler all of their married lives. Later Elizabeth moved to St. Johns.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Brown Johnson, sister in law, Martha Falk and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, and infant son, parents, Victor Sr. and Alice Torok, brother, Victor Torok, sisters, Bertha Miller, Alice Rowell, Goldie Kaloz, brothers in law, William Kaloz, Roy Miller, Norman Brown, Frank, Carl and Alfred Rowell and sisters in law, Dorothy Torok and Minnie Martens.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Rev. Fr. Dennis Howard officiating, burial at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, with rosaries being prayed at 3 and 8 p.m., at the Goerge Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes, 11112 W. Ionia St., Fowler.
