Library Policy Change
The Library Board enacted some changes to the Briggs Public Library User Card policy at their February meeting. The Board is cognizant of the climbing costs for Library materials and foresaw the need to limit Library financial liability, as well as assisting patrons to manage the number of materials they have out at any one time.
The new policy reads: “A User Card (Library Card) entitles a patron to check out a maximum of fifteen items per card. Staff has the discretion to make exceptions for special circumstances like an educator using materials for professional purposes, an institution/organization, and etcetera.”
To read the Library User Card policy in its entirety please ask at the Library Desk. The Briggs Public Library serves residents and property owners of the City of St. Johns, the Township of Bingham, or any resident of a contracting municipality. Our current contract area includes Bingham, Bengal, Dallas, Greenbush, Olive, Riley, and Westphalia Townships. We also serve Essex and Victor Township residents via the MichiCard system which requires a registration at their local libraries in Maple Rapids or Laingsburg, respectively.
