Members of the St. Johns – Konan, Japan Friendship Society give many thanks to the young artists from St. Johns and from her sister city, Konan-shi in Shiga, Japan.
For the 13th year their artwork is again brightening the winter season. With support from the City of St. Johns, St. Johns Schools, Briggs Public Library and the Clinton County Arts Council, the 200 pieces of children’s art are on display until the end of February, exhibited at the Briggs Public Library.

At the opening reception on February 5, fourth-graders from East Olive elementary, directed by Ms. Shirley Anne Ries, sang several Japanese folk songs in Japanese and performed other selections on recorders. Refreshments were generously provided once more by the Big Boy restaurant of St. Johns. See a glimpse of the exhibit and performance online at http://mishigan.blogspot.com.
