1938 International Live Stock Exposition
by Barry Bauer
Gazing at a poster advertising the International Live Stock Exposition in Chicago in late fall of 1938 were four talented Clinton County young people whose outstanding 4-H club work won them awards in the form of free trips, as announced at the Achievement Day program in April, 1938.
Holding the poster is Lyle Acre of Duplain, who along with the young lady to his left, Jeanne Rose of Eagle, attended the Chicago event. Next to Jeanne is Eldera Bancroft of Eagle and Rance Riggle of Dewitt, who visited the Toronto Exposition that summer.
There were 16 other trip winners.
